  1. That One Guy says:

    First

  2. Koki Kariya says:

So are any church where you follow blindly and don’t think for yourself. People hate him because of religious intolerance, not because they care about people like “Katie” being brainwashed, etc.

    • Jamieteevee says:

NO, they hate him because he is a freak who lies to himself and others. The Scientology thing is just a prime indication of that.

    • x-bert says:

      Aarrghghhh.. my pneumonia implant!!!!!!

    • Christine Noble says:

I agree, but I have a general problem with religious zealots of any stripe, which he qualifies as. Of course there are Christian zealots in Hollywood too, they just tend not to be as talented (Ms. Heaton of Everybody Loves Raymond for example.)

  3. Jamieteevee says:

You might be corrupted by thetans with your gloating. Let’s see if we can bring you back to CLEAR. Please bring in the car battery, the jumper cables and some nipple clamps. :-D

  4. duckyfresh says:

A crazy he may be, but a hot picture of him that is.

  5. Girl Fawkes says:

    In before Anonymous.

    Oh wait.

  6. Grrr Power says:

    Hee hee heeeee!!!!! :D

    Oh.
    It says “cult”.
Not what I read at first. ;)

  7. Treason says:

You may as well just say, “Religion. A posh name for cult.”

  8. um says:

Scientology is NOT a religion, it is a money making pyramid scheme and a dangerous cult. If you ask ANY true dedicated scientologist what it is all about they will ask you to go to one of the office or organizations so they can trap you. With other religions they are UPFRONT about what they believe. Scientology is the exact opposite. They want you to pay. people have died from it. Some of the most dedicated people in scientology never finished high school. You can say other religions are like this but this religion is pure evil and every religion will tell you the same, they are against scientology more than anything.

  9. myself says:

not a LOL, it’s a bad motivaor. DELETE

  10. Ayeka says:

No matter how crazy he gets, I still think he is incredibly attractive. Damn you, hormones, stop over-riding logic!

  11. Ayeka says:

Oh, I did actually want to mention that Scientology is illegal in France and is offically recognized as a cult there.

    • Frankly My Dear says:

Ayeka, following Christ was illegal in Rome for a long period of time. Did that make Jesus crazy? Or you crazy for following his teachings (assuming you’re a Christian)? And Um? I *am* a Scientologist (have been for over 20 years) and if you had honestly asked, I would have spent the time to show you all about my religion and answered any of your questions without saying “go in to a church”. I would have been happy to be direct and up front with you. Frankly, i’m not sure where your kind of intolerance belongs on this (or any) board. Its one thing to poke fun. I can laugh at it with the rest of you. But inciting religious hate? yeesh.

      • Grrr Power says:

        Yes, it’s a “proper” religion.
It’s a “proper” religion, dreamed up by science-fiction and fantasy author.
A science-fiction and fantasy author who, in writing, has in the past openly admitted racism, and the fact that religion is the best way to make money.

        There you go.
        No opinions, just facts. :)

      • Jim says:

Okay, I don’t agree with what I have seen of Scientology but I give you serious props for having the courage to stand up in a room and say you belong to the group that everyone else has been ripping on. And I was going to bring up the fact that Christianity was considered a cult in Rome for quite awhile but you did it more eloquently.

To make up for all the tolerance I’ve shown here, I’m going to have to kick a puppy. Damn!

      • Jamieteevee says:

I do not fault the “church” for the good they do. Any church would do some good so that others might overlook the batsh*t tenets that are the basis of their faith. Most “religeons” don’t come with a tax dodging Ponzi scheme as the business model of their organization. They really are not much different than the Fallon Gong or the Moonies. Both of those organizations do good works and demand unwavering faith in impossible things. I have known Christian Scientists who allowed their child to die from appendicitis and I have known a Scientologist who was kidnapped and locked up for being gay. He later committed suicide. Great job!

      • Ayeka says:

I am actually an atheist, and I was just stating a FACT. I don’t see where you get intolerance from that. I never said I thought it was a cult or full of crazies, just that in France that is the way things currently stand. Way to jump to incorrect conclusions.

        • Ayeka says:

Apparently I jumped the gun. They are currently on trial in France and could become illegal.

“On September 08, 2008, a French judge has ordered two departments and seven prominent members of the Church of Scientology in France to stand trial on charges of organized fraud. Included in those charged is Alain Rosenberg, the manager of the ASES-Celebrity Centre, and all seven defendants’ face a maximum seven year jail term if convicted. The case is the latest in a series of legal battles that have pitted the French judicial system against the Scientologists. If Scientology is found guilty, the church could be forced to cease all of their activities in France – and this would result in closing down of all of their Orgs and Offices throughout the entire country”

      • JC says:

Jesus Christ wouldn’t steal an innocent woman’s stationary (Paulette Cooper) and write out bomb threats to frame her with the FBI. Jesus Christ wouldn’t lock Lisa McPherson in a basement room to die of dehydration and be eaten by roaches. Are you kidding when you call Scientology a religion? What exactly is your belief system? To dominate others and destroy anybody who gets in your way? Scientology is a dangerous cult that uses mind-control techniques such as lie-detectors, interrogation, blackmail and “disconnection” (shunning of loved ones) to control it’s followers, Scientology strips people of money and autonomy. Ruthlessly attacking all perceived enemies with its Fair Game Policy, Scientology intimidates witnesses into silence.

  12. nearlynormalized says:

Scientology and Scientologist were created for little people who have Napoleon complexes…May the powers that be create the illusion and the followers go along with the program. Did not most of the so called religions start as cults? If you get the chance to hang around long enough, legitimacy is the final solution and tax write offs a plenty. I am a leader of the Church of Urine; we piss on everything.

  13. Frankly My Dear says:

Thanks Jim. Nearly, if you are the equal opportunity pisser you claim to be, please post up a link where you’ve panned Christianity or Judaism, Buddism, Daoism, or Islam with the ferociousness and temerity with which you insult my religion. In lieu of that, I can’t imagine how you see yourself as anything but intolerant. Finally, I only ask you (or anyone else for that matter) to honestly consider one thing: would you want your own religion (or anything else you passionately believe in) denigrated and insulted by someone who genuinely knows nothing of it? For example, Catholics beleive that the eucharist *is* the body and the blood of Christ. Sounds innocuous enough until someone comes along and twists it all about and calls it cannibalism. This is what we as Scientologists experience daily on the internet. Actions such as yours only lead us down the path of national indignity, racial and religious intolerance and ultimately returns us to the days of the bigotry and hatred that marked the Segregation of the 1960’s, The Spanish Inquision, and WWII and other periods of anti-semitism throughout the ages. Seriously, I’m sure you learned the Golden Rule in kindergarten: Treat others as you yourself would want to be treated. Is this how you would have yourself, your spouse, children, family or friends treated?

    • Evolution says:

oh wow… Here I have to intercept and make a comment…
On behalf of atheists all over the planet…..

      *yawns*

These religious wars are old. We can all quote history and the bible but in the end it is still fun to poke fun at…. =P

And yes, for those of you bound to ask, I can quote the bible, the book of Mormon, the kaaran, among other works of fiction, I am an educated atheist.

      • Frankly My Dear says:

Evolution: Quite right. Very Old. Thats why i wish these tired old wars and arguments would die and everyone would live and let live. Poke fun, sure, but leave it at that. I was raised Jewish, I continue to think of myself as a Jew and I know more Jew jokes than i care to admit. But get one Tom Cruise picture up there, mention scientology and they all come out of the woodwork to do more than that, to hate and be interolent, if only to show that they too can read up on 4chan and feel like they know something. If the likes of Um and Nearly don’t ever wish to pick up a Scientology book and at least become somewhat educated about what they rant about, then thats their business. But the whole thing is tired, its old and the uninformed hate just needs to stop.

        • Evolution says:

          *applauds*.
It always surprises me to watch as the people of my country suddenly go from 2008 to 1808, at times like this. Jeez folks, it’s ALL opinion!!! I have mine Frankly has his, you all have yours…. But trying to shove your opinions down my and or frankly’s throat is a useless waste of typing.
Feel free to voice yourself and your opinions, but be advised, as humans no two are alike…. Similar maybe, exact, never…

    • Anonymous says:

I don’t have to tell you my religion. Heck, I don’t even have to give you my name. All I want to ask is, “Do you have the love of Katie Holmes in your heart?” :P

    • Chal says:

Maybe Scientology is so reviled because there’s actually something wrong with it…

Most religious persecution in the past came from the top down. Leaders found something politically or ideologically wrong with it and inspired their followers to hate these groups. Opposition to Scientology, on the other hand, is pretty widespread and decentralised. People are taking it personally.

And that is a misapplication of the golden rule. The way we treat people depends on what they’ve done. Pretty much no one wants to be locked up, but most people think that locking up criminals is the right thing to do. Becoming a Scientologist is a choice and like every choice it has consequences.

  15. treadmarkz says:

Scientology is certainly not a cult, but isn’t it more of a hobby than a religion? Seriously? Anyone?

  16. Gauldar says:

a religion is just a cult with political power.

  17. Yawn says:

    *yawn*

the same old “pick up a Scientology book and do some research before you throw stones” comment.

I don’t live in NY or work downtown to know that 9/11 was terrible.
I am not Jewish, nor German, but I know the Holocaust was awful.
Just because we’re not Scientologists doesn’t mean we’re not completely dimwitted about how it works. You don’t have to experience something first hand to understand it. You can research something from both sides, which is more than Scientologists do. Have any Scientologists bothered having a serious openminded conversation with any of the former members or protesters and understanding why they feel the way they do before calling them hate mongering terrorists? Naw. They just tell the protesters things like “You don’t understand. You should read Dianetics and you’ll understand.”
But here’s the best part…when you tell them you HAVE read Dianetics and The Way To Happiness, they simply say “good” and walk away.

  18. zecrow says:

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! This one is hilarious! Tom Cruise, Scientology…..what a JOKE!!! HAHAHA

  19. Marc Abfleet says:

… oh, and as for ‘go read a book’, because it’s all available for free on the internet for those that want to look, I’ve probably read more Scientology literature than 99% of current Scientologists – because I haven’t had to remortgage my house to complete yet another course on the BRIDGE TO NOWHERE.

  20. fudup says:

I think Cruise just happens to be batsh!t crazy and became a scientologist. I personally do not like nor ascribe to scientology, as the creator of this sect was a bookwriter who was known to be nutty as he11. Coincidence? I think not.

  21. Noonsa says:

Crazy never looked so HOT! *drul*

  22. w says:

think about it every RELIGION is a CULT

  23. treadmarkz says:

I retract my comment from October the 10th. It was made before I’d really done the research warranting such a comment.

  24. LoopyLu says:

yikes! those eyebrows look like they want to fly away!

  25. haruhi-ism says:

do his eyebrows have cognitive thought yet?

  26. Collin says:

is it just me of does his nose look crooked?
