Okay, I’m going to step in on this one.
Avenged Sevenfold is my favourite band, but this is pretty funny.
The only reason I find it funny, though, is because Avenged Sevenfold don’t even consider themselves metal. They have all types of genres throughout their music.
They’re influenced by a lot of metal bands, yes. But, they’re also influenced by country music, hip hop, and even a lot of Elvis Costello and Frank Sinatra music.
Maybe Synyster Gates has made metal look gay, but that’s just because Synyster’s feminine. End of story. :]

I’ve seen them live and the are amazing! Def one of my favorite bands. but who the F%$@ cares what this dumbass thinks they look like.. their music is great and they are very talented.. as for considering them metal.. again who cares.

A7X has one good album- the second one. Other than that, they SUCK. I [and most people] wouldn’t bother to say that if they and their fans called them metal. A7X is NOT metal, and the fact that they’re trying to be is why many people in the metal community think they they are that horrible.

Well, that’s only because the 80s in general looked gay. Not just metal bands.
Although the glam metal bands looked about twice as gay as the 80s (GnR, Poison), there were still good metal bands (Maiden and Sabbath for example) who only looked as gay as the times, no more.

Avenged Sevenfold has to possibly be the best band live I have heard. Been to three of their concerts and my favorite band of all time. Apparently the rest of you who say they suck think they can change other people’s views. Your opinion doesn’t matter. Possibly neither does mine. I was a fan since Sounding the Seventh Trumpet and I am happy for it. I love their music, I think it is amazing, and Synyster Gates is one amazing guitarist. If you don’t like it, Oh well. They aren’t metal either as stated above in numerous comments, they are a blend of a lot and their music is quite amazing in my opinion. I’m betting half of you who hate A7X are Studioforce fans too :l Fail.

1st and 2nd album, they were a genre called Metalcore, basically a smash fusion of Hardcore Punk(thus the core part of the genre name) and Extreme Metal(more specifically along the lines of Death, which is a sub-genre of Extreme Metal, as well as Grindcore, and Thrash Metal).
3rd album: they were less punky, more metallish, but starting to ride the fence of Hard Rock, and yes, that was also implied as a gay joke lol
4th album: they were such an amalgamation of music from thrash metal songs, to a more metalcore sound in a song or two, to country, to classical, and then there’s A Little Piece of Heaven… Great song… Doesn’t have a genre, its just fucked up.
So yes, if you wish to combat wits online, please, reply. I doubt I will reply though. You probably aren’t worth it.
