I read an article about the concert in Israel(in a dentist’s waiting room lol), and it had an interview with some fans, and pictures… Basically the entire audience consisted of 10-15 year old girls who think they’re “emo”, and all of the fans who were interviewed were also female, under 15 and didn’t listen to any other music besides tokio hotel… And I’m pretty sure if anyone did a search on that concert, I’m pretty sure they would have gotten results that said the same thing -__-
So while mentioning WWII at that concert might have made some people like them more, but I’m not sure how well that would have gone P:

I doubt there would be any haters, if not for the media presence, the fans that go screaming like banshees and such. THs success is based on a few things:
Looks – Bill looks like every other anime/manga character. And they ride the goth/emo style bus.
Marketing – without marketing, acts like Modern Torkeln would have never had a success … curse you, Ingolf Lück!
Fact is, their lyrics are just as much nonsence as are a lot of others, no matter if german or english.
Looks were always more important than talent, goes with musicians and actors.
What would be a good german act in your opinion? Wolfgang Petry or Die Ärzte? I prefer the later.

Um..i have heard the music, not a huge fan. I think he looks way too feminine in his pictures, and I’m sorry but the only man I have seen wear makeup in the music business (and makes it look good) is Alice Cooper. Because he doesn’t line his eyes like a woman. Their music is whiny and sounds like the other whiny “new age” bands out there. And “Dear or alive” is exactly what I thought of when I first saw him a looong time ago! lol The way I look at it is, if girls want to go after a guy that looks like a woman (well) they should date a woman.
