in the summer in california, it is cold at the beach. That water was in alaska just a week ago….
as for the water, in high summer u need a wetsuit to stay out for more than a few minutes – truth.
Those girls on Baywatch earned their money standing about in an ounce of spandex on those beaches filming …I swear to ya, ski boots is a good idea, silly as it looks.

Why uggs at the beach.
1/ water really cold? this will warm them up quick.
2/ wet and sandy feet? slip on the uggs, as your feet dry, the sand disappears into the wool. You barely notice the sand, and your feet dry quickly. (primary reason for them)
I’m glad someone finally explained that to me. Here in the states, I see them as a social-darwinism trait: don’t mate with anyone wearing them.
