    ahem… >.>

they’re all legal now aren’t they?

  2. Blackup says:

Damn Twilight fucking sucks. Harry Potter was much much better.

  3. SKW says:

Pattinson looks like a completely different person now. To be fair, everyone went to see Radcliff in Equus, too.

  4. KMcC. says:

    EPIC, EPIC WIN.

  5. keebee says:

omg! i love this caption :) i love twilight and harry potter both, and if i was allowed i would go see equus.

    • Emily says:

Hmm. “If I was allowed”… I think we see why you like Twilight. No, wait, I’m still young enough that most girls my age love Twilight, while I think it’s repulsive, so, apparently, you’re just blind. Blind at being able to see what good writing actually is.

      • dosquatch says:

This is the “good food / fine cuisine” argument. Nobody argues that McDonald’s is fine cuisine by any stretch, but there’s something there that people appreciate or they wouldn’t buy – and buy and buy.

By the same token, “good writing” can mean different things. In this case, it wins on mass appeal, even if it (in your POV) fails on literary art.

And HP has certainly had its fair share of the same critique flung its way.

        • Ryan says:

Actually no, “good writing” is not really subjective. Enjoyment of a certain
piece of work, sure. But Twilight is NOT a well written series on ANY basis.
Bad values, plot holes galore, bad writing in the technical sense…A literature
classic it is not. Yes, it is MASSIVELY popular, but that doesn’t make it “good”.
          Just popular.

          • ringo says:

            tl;dr:

i agree with you in regard to the objective quality of twilight’s writing… however, i would like to remind you – though i suspect you are already aware of this – that people use the term “good writing” in a variety of ways, both in terms of technical excellence and popularity – both objective and subjective types of “good.” and if people are using the term “good” to mean “pleasing in an subjective manner” as well as “quality from an objective standpoint” – if it’s commonly used and accepted, isn’t that a correct and justifiable use of the word? after all, languages change over time and are no greater than those who use them. therefore, depending on who uses the term and how clear they are being about the sense in which they felt this, i uphold the use of the term “good writing” for twilight for those feel it’s appropriate… though i would never use it that way myself. :)

          • TF says:

I’m sorry but do you realise how increadibly rude you are?! I’m not a nerd, but I get good english marks and have read over 2000 books, so please don’t call Twilight ‘Not good’. Twilight has more repect than you will ever have.

            • Mijan says:

Actually, Ryan is right. By pretty much any standard of “good literature,” Twilight falls flat. That doesn’t mean you’re not entitled to enjoy it. There are plenty of movies, books, TV shows, and other entertainment sources that are loved by the masses, yet are absolutely mediocre. Some entertainment caters to the highest common denominator, and some to the lowest. As long as it makes money, someone will produce it. That still doesn’t make it “good.”

So you get “good English marks.” Congratulations, here’s your little gold sticker. That doesn’t make you an expert literature critic. Twilight doesn’t have “respect.” It has fangirls. Big difference.

              • Lainie says:

In a hundred years, Potter will still be around in lit circles. Twilight will follow Sweet Valley High.

                • TF says:

Guess what? I’ve read Sweet Valley High, oh and respect is the right word.

                  • Seanna says:

It depends on who is “respecting” Twilight. If you are referring to fangirls, Entertainment Weekly, “Best Selling” book lists, teen magazines, and various members of the media, sure they may give “respect”, but their lack of ethos limits the credibility of their reviews. For most of those sources, their reviews are based solely on the series’ popularity, and as established before, what’s popular is not necessarily “good”.
If you are referring to well-known and established literary critics, I’d hardly say that their reviews of Twilight are “respectful”. Most would rather say that it is quite horrible. Since these sources are very credible, their opinions matter more.
By saying that you get “good English marks” and that you have read “over 2000 books” is your way of establishing your ethos, but quantity does not necessarily mean quality; reading 2000 books means that you could have read 2000 Gossip Girl-esque books, and those are hardly of literary merit. It could also mean you have read Steinbeck, Shakespeare, Melville, and Dickens, but you never explicitly said /what/ you have read. This isn’t to insuly you in any way, I’m merely making a point.
Finally, I’m not saying that it is /bad/ that you enjoy Twilight–many people do. I’m merely stating that it is wrong to say that Twilight is a piece of good, /quality/ literature with the respect of established critics, because this is simply not the case.

                    • TF says:

No, I don’t read Gossip Girl.
                      I’ve read Harry Potter,
I’ve played Merqutico in a modern version of ‘Romeo and Juilet’
I’ve read Meg Cabot, Emily Rodda, Kate Forsyth, Dean Koontz and Nicholas Evans.
Just so you get the picture.

I’m talking about anyone, Authors included.

I don’t care about the “well know” literary critics. They can be unnessacerly harsh, unfair and unjust.

I thank you for not wishing to insult me, but its not me I’m standing up for.

                • Kate says:

I Agree That Twilight Will Never Have Anywhere Near The same Sucess As HP but I Still love the Series and Think that they are better than HP Though I Do Enjoy Reading and Watching Harry Potter

          • Ellaa says:

Yes And Tell Me MR I KNOW EVERYTHING
why did it get so popular because it was not good .
            hmmm.

            • Death by Taco says:

Because twelve year old girls swooned at the thought of romance with a vampire who sparkles and a book longer than 150 pages that they actually had the mental capacity to read.

              • alison says:

well excuse us 12 year olds that like and will 4evr read those 750 pg books about sparkly vampires!!!!!
i mean give us credit we actually have read the series in a month 4 our age!!!

                • alison says:

anyways me and my friends are “A” “B” students thank u very much

                  • Death By Taco says:

See, there’s the problem. Right there. “well excuse us 12 year olds that like and will 4evr read those 750 pg books about sparkly vampires!!!!!” In about ten, maybe evrn five years, you’re gonna want to hide your head in shame for ever writing something like that. And, if it took you a MONTH to get through Twilight, you must be incredibly dense. I’m fourteen and I read Twilight in two days [I'm an anvanced student and, as much as I hate to admit it, I was a wee bit hooked...for about a week].

              • Sam says:

Right, First of All: SHUT UP WITH ALL THE GRAMMAR CRAP!!! And second, People likes Twilight coz it was a Action/romance film. I am 12 ive read books more than 200 pages before the Twilight saga, and i liked the film coz it was DIFFERENT. Not coz it had sparkly vampires in. I do like Robert, but I like Jackson more :)

                • Annie Crimefighter says:

Uh, no. See, if you don’t use proper grammar and spell words like “different” wrong, people are going to think you’re an idiot. For your entire life. Savvy? Secondly, there was no action in Twilight. I’ve watched episodes of Friends that had more action that Twilight did. And, lastly, the book was awful. Yes, awful. If you’re twelve, I guess that’s fine, but that doesn’t change how bad the writing was.

          • solanum 2ber0sum says:

Just like Hanna Montana and the Jonas Brothers. they may be popular, but their music is not good by any stretch of the imagination

        • sparkly says:

i like the way you look at all this stuff =)

  6. geetarded says:

Oh damn! Something I made actually made it to the front page…?

    [/end 15 seconds of fame]

  7. fsafsdf says:

Harry Potter much better…..pretty weak for a vampire movie…

    • Hayley Rodgers says:

      Twilight book is better

      • garble says:

        ಠ_ಠ

      • twilightluvr says:

        i totally agree with u

      • Grammar Nazi says:

Only if English isn’t your native language.

        • Emily says:

To GN: I whole-heartedly agree. (To be honest, after reading Twilight, I almost threw up. It was THAT terrible. I ran out of the movie theater laughing at the putrid mess that filled the screen.)

          • Raiza says:

i loathed it too. i can’t see why anybody would like it to the point of insanity. it’s just a typical fan service book for the author to earn money.

          • Katie says:

If you thought the book was so awful, then why go to see the film? You must be awfully smart, there, sugar. Wasted your money on the book…wasted your money on the movie… I think someone loves Twilight!!! (I think it’s you, Em.)

To those of you who are saying Twilight is not well written…you must not have read the book…or perhaps you simply hate anything that’s not completely obscure. So it’s mainstream. It’s popular. Millions of psychotic teenage girls are drooling over Edward/Robert. That doesn’t mean the book isn’t well written. I am a writer, and I’d kill for even half of Stephanie Meyer’s talent for putting a story together.

            • JJ says:

Holy crap, you must be one god-awful writer. Please–never publish. Save some face.
I read almost three chapter of that ridiculous book before I just couldn’t take it anymore. Even for YA it’s awful.

            • Andrea says:

              Yeah,

So it’s not only crazy teenage girls. I’m a mom of three and me and my other mom friends have read and reread them all and have seen the movie about 6 times (though to be fair around time 5 we started making fun of it)…but it is a great way to disappear into another reality when you homeschool three kids and life revolves around double digit addition and Monster Trucks. No one is saying it’s the best book ever written, but it has been a fun time in our lives.

            • sparkly says:

              Actually is not THAT great…
              -it’s repetitive
-every 2 pages reminds you that “edward is so handsome”
              -has a lot of “look-i-use-pretty-words-so-the-book-looks-great”

but what makes it a “good” is that it shows you this “perfect boy” that doesn’t exist…. that’s why it has a lot of fans….

              oh… and robert pattinson, lol

            • Death by Taco says:

Then you would most likely mass-murder a group of preschoolers for a tenth of JK Rowling’s talent.

            • Annie Crimefighter says:

How stupid are you? You really think there are no other reasons as to heting it except for how popular it is? How many times were you dropped on your head in your infancy?! Just because I bought the book doesn’t mean I like it, you idiotic waste of flesh! Christ, what is wrong with people?!

If you’d kill for half of SMeyer’s talent, I’d hate to see how you write now. The book had no discernible plot, flat characters, bad messages, improper grammar and word usage, innumerable plot holes (Rosalie’s father was described as “a wealthy and successful banker”. During the time of the Great Depression) and it was the biggest logic fail I’ve ever witnessed (crystalline structures sparkle under ALL light, not just the sun. Also, no pulse = no blood flow = no erection = no sex). Please, never publish. EVER.

          • julie says:

Well, HArry Potter made me puke(litteraly).. I am still not over its suckyness. And if you think twilight is bad. You should see a doctor, cuz something is messed up inside your head.

            • sammy says:

I have seen a doctor, mind you, and I’m completely normal. I saw the movie with a friend. 5 minutes in, I was cracking jokes and spotting plotholes. I borrowed the book, and didn’t like it. The book had so many plotholes, I felt like I was reading about swiss cheese. Stephen King came out and slammed stephanie myer, and I’m glad. People say she has “talent”. Well, if she has SO much, why can’t she think of something new? She’s going to write those 4 godawful books from edwards point of view. What is she going to name it?
Twilight: the same piece of crap from edwards point of view? Come On!

Stephen King has books that are entertaining and well written. He owns Myer with an iron fist!

            • Death by Taco says:

      • alison says:

finally what i been lookin 4 on this god for saken site!!! twilight fans!!!! yes!!

        • Death By Taco says:

You’ve honestly spent all your time on this site, for intelligent people with senses of humor, looking for other idiots [Twilight fans]?

    • Sam says:

It’s not a vampire movie as such, it’s more a romance than anything/

      • paws4thot says:

Actually, so is the original Bela Lugosi Dracula a romance, and it still manages to be a vampire films, so the 2 are clearly not impossible to combine.

  8. Torey says:

I actually like Pattinson better this way. He looks better when his hairs been washed :)

  9. Ele-yah says:

    prrrrrrrrr & grrraowrrr! ;)

  10. Hillery says:

I’d been wondering why that guy in the Twilight preview looked so familiar… Man, am I out of the loop…

  11. AC says:

I thought he was on the West End. Is he on Broadway now?

  12. meh. says:

personally i prefer a naked daniel over robert. have you seen pics of him? holy SHIT when did harry potter get 12 pack abs! that’s right he blew right past 6 pack. DAMN.

robert…looks a little weird and girly to me in the twilight movies, hotter in HP though.

    then=robert>daniel
    now=robert<daniel

    • Lucky says:

Have you ever seen the pics where he shows ALL? There are a couple non-photoshopped cell phone pics of Daniel’s….junk. And it’s not impressive.

      Vampire plz.

Perhaps he’s a grower, not a shower? XD

it couldn’t be from the cold air…he even stated during an interview that the theater was FREEZING during the performance. AND if you know anything about guys..their package tends to shrink when exposed to cooler temps.

How do you feel about Slash?

    • someone says:

movies? you mean there’s more than one? o_O

      • Emily says:

Yes, unfortunately. It’s been confirmed that a second Twilight film is in the works. I almost cried when I heard that. That’s how much I hate Twilight.

        • Weep says:

          *GAG* *Cough* *Vomit* *Suicide*

        • sparkly says:

Oh, Emily, then just don’t go see the movie!
There’s no need for you to suffer =)

        • julie says:

i HATE Harry Potter, it makes me want to puke my guts out.. Twilight is sooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Twilight is 1000000000000000000000000000000000% better than Harry Potter. Oh, and I would see a doctor, cuz if you think Twilight is bad, something is worng with your head

          • Death by Taco says:

If you spell “wrong” W-O-R-N-G, you should see a doctor, because something is “worng” with your head.
Honestly, go shave your man-toes. You probably didn’t even have the decency to READ the Twi-suck series before pissing yourself over Robert Pattinson’s “HAWTNESS”. And you obviously never read the Harry Potter series, either. So, again, come back when you’ve learned not to slam into the keyboard repeatedly with your face.

        • Iz-Ah-Bel says:

          ^^ you’re really weird

        • MacAnimeGirl says:

          Yes, I know… *sigh*

I’ve seen the previews twice while going to see much better movies. It was showed at the midnight viewing of Transformers 2 (awesome as hell) and Harry Potter 6 (pretty good actually).

My husband laughed and said don’t worry there’s only 4 books. I said Thank God! And kept reading my Harry Potter book so I wouldn’t have to watch. I’m trying to reread them before the 7th movies come out.

Yes movies. It’s been rumored, don’t know if they’ve confirmed or denied it, that the last book will be split into 2 movies. I don’t remember a great deal from the other HP books so I’m going back to read them before I read the 7th.

          • Death By Taco [has a weird obsession with Tom Felton] says:

Confirmed. According to Tom Felton: “Too much juice to squeeze into one movie”. I’m glad to have helped.

  17. dbc132 says:

    EPIC WIN!!!!
even though I’m “flocking” to neither *shrug*

  18. LulzOnTwilight says:

Harry Potter = WAAY better than Twilight. At least Harry Potter had some originality and intellectual merit.

    • Emily says:

      Thank you!

    • den says:

      exactly

    • Kate says:

Excuse Me, Vegetarian Vampires who sparkle in the the sunlight, Please Tell me HOW that is not original!

I Like both Harry Potter and Twilight but I think Twilight is much better than HP as Twilight is so much more grown up I Think

      • Death by Taco says:

        Vegetarian vampires=bursting with un-originality.
Sparkling vampires=that’s just a horrible idea. I don’t care who you are.

    • MacAnimeGirl says:

And research. You shouldn’t forget that J.K. actually looked and read up on her settings and such BEFORE she wrote her books.

  19. Korin says:

    I laughed!
God, the Twilight fans in the theater were SO much worse than Harry Potter fans ever were. At least HP fans have some intellectual taste and respect for fellow fans.

    • Kuromisa says:

A friend of mine who went to see the movie on opening night said that every time a male went on-screen, all the little girls screamed. I read the books a while back and thought they were okay, nothing to write home about. Why is everyone getting so obsessed?

      • sarah-jane says:

        LOL
i read the book ages ago wen it first came out…it was alright. i get y ppl r falling for edward (and coz he portrays ed; rpatz) and i do think the story was a good idea. its a shame tho that stephanie meyer is such a terrible author, it couldv bn soo much better. mind u i have such a prob with bella coz of her dependancy on ed that i read that partial draft of eds pov and thought it was much better.
hp is much better written i think but i like both series.
i think its stupid to compare the two, they r actually nothing alike.
        1. HP – about a boy who learns he is a wizard and has a creepy messed up evil enemy
        2. Twilight – about a clumsy girl who falls for a vegetarian vampire
the only way these two series are alike is that they both have massive fan bases as well as massive haterz and there and a lot of fangirls for both
i thought the pic was funny…i love it even more wen i started reading all the crap written down here lol.
srsly ppl get over it, just coz u dont like it doesnt mean everyone else should agree with u…i LOVE 21 jump street i think it is one of the best tv series…but it is sooo cheesy and predictable and horrible acting. but im not gonna start abusing everyone who says jump st was a piece of crap. i like it so im able to see its flaws…same with these 2 series.
mind u, if everyone stops the hp v t arguments i think a lot of ppl r gonna lose alot of entertainment LOL
oh and btw i dont think rpatz is hott…his chin protrudes more than his nose :P and he looks like a hobo these days. and dan isnt hott either but i saw that interview on rove the other week…love him for that soo funny
and i cant be bothered going back over this comment to see if it makes sense so sorry if it doesnt :) writing it was a good distraction from uni work :D

  22. SarahAtTheDisco says:

    True dat.

  23. PeachyKat says:

I read ‘Twilight’. I’m not one of the “prudes” (note: I AM NOT referring to anyone on here because there is no one on here of that type) who thinks teens should only read things with X level of substance, but please. Bella was a watered-down, dependent character and the story was boring, hacked, and wandering. ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ was light, fun, and a definite “guilty” pleasure but it faded away while this–THIS! receives fans who actually think it’s new and great. And on the literary side, it’s being compared to Romeo and Juliet and Ed’s being considered a model man. *fights urge to hurl book*

    • Emily says:

Thank you, thank you very much.

    • .BriBear. says:

So, I’ve read the books as well (seeing as nearly everyone around me was reading them). I didn’t think they were necessarily that poorly written, but I think that Meyer could have done a much better job, particularly with Twilight and the ending of Breaking Dawn. The movie was not as good as it could be and I had gone to it not expecting a winner. Kristen Stewart (played Bella) was so damn stiff the entire movie that I wanted to reach out and smack her across the face. Pattinson does look nice and all but ‘Gaspard Ulliel will always be my Edward.’ And the whole fan girl thing was SO obnoxious. My mother read Twilight after I did and managed to read the series almost three times in two weeks. As much as I tried to, I can not disown her…yet.

As for the Harry Potter books, I was severely disappointed with 5, 6, and 7. It just seemed like she was in a hurry to get the books done and on the shelves so the cast of the movies could be within at least a 5 year range of what their characters were. Movie-wise, anything after two was just horrible. They weren’t wearing their robes anymore and the directors paid too much attention to itty bitty detail and ignored large portions of the book.

The only conclusion I can come to is: Twilight fans need to realize that it wasn’t all that fantastic but it was a decent piece of literature and Harry Potter fans need to realize that they too acted this way when books/movies are coming out, and their series (book-wise) is done so something else is bound to take its place.

      • Here for the lulz. says:

While I agree something else will eventually take Harry Potter’s place, I do kind of resent the implication that it’s to be expected to happen right away. Harry Potter did a LOT that no book had managed to do before–basically captivating half the world, from the young ’til old age, spawning more fanatics and controversies then, really, any book series has a right to. The HP hysteria, the impact it left on an entire generation–yes, something will eventually top it, BUT it’s not like you have book series that are that phenomenally popular all the time, and to presume that something will come along a year or two after the fact is silly. Yes, something will eventually top Harry Potter. That is a given. But it won’t happen overnight, and it certainly won’t be Twilight.

(Also, while I like book 5, I agree 6 and 7 were completely the result of rushing the end. I don’t think it was for the movies–if anything, I just think Jo had been writing it too long, had a family and kids and just wanted it over and done with–but yeah. Last two were definitely disappointing and obviously rushed.)

        • Iz-Ah-Bel says:

i like harry potter and twilight . and i dont think that you can compare hp to twilight . i agree with caitlin and heatherrrrrrrrrj . the movie sucks , its just bad . and i dont care about rob . its so sad that twilight became popular …
and why is everyone so mad at each other , i mean srysly its not fun arguing with people like Emily or julie
and you cant just say that a book is bad written . theres no book thats bad written , everybody has an opinion . and guys , these are books . get over it .
i hate screaming twilight fans and i h8 people who try to own younger girls cuz they cant argue with people that are their own age

  24. Mazy says:

OMG OMG this is SO friggen amazing!!!!

  25. ORLY says:

I just get the feeling Daniel was trying to break away from the Harry Potter image and do something completely opposite. Well, too bad for him because all I picture now is a wizard who likes horses a bit too much XD And now Robert will always be known as an emo vampire. And he made a really cute Cedric, too~!

  26. Hopless Romance says:

I liked the book Twilight, but Harry Potter was WAY better. Less annoying fan-girls, and better writing.

  27. i am paul and i am FABULOUS says:

    i want edwards penis

  28. Katie says:

YES, seriously, and besides I always preferred Robert anyway

  29. Lizzie says:

    I LOVE EDWARD CULLEN!
ya, im in love with fake people, how cool am i?

  34. Weep says:

Why has not a single person yet said “Oh I’d be perfectly happy between those two pieces of man” yet? Because I can’t decide…. One looks like he’d promise to be gentle and the other looks like he’d beg for me to be gentle! tee hee…. ooooohhh….. why has no one said this…. OBVIOSLY this is all meaningless because the are the perfect couple! Look at that sexual tension….

  35. twilight and harry fan says:

well i personally like both movies. i don’s see y people r getting so angry over this one dumb pic. it is really good. i think that both guys r really really really really really hot. twilight is amazing and i can’t wait for for harry potter and the half blood prince to come out. i don’t see y people half to fight over all of this. it is just retarded. i mean come on, it’s just a picture! that is it. no need for all this fighting about it.

  36. agliginsplergy says:

    you know something fuck twilight

  37. hirash says:

are you all for real? harry potter and twilight both shucked *and yes i know i misspelled a word *

  38. Shae-CAPWWS says:

    TWILIGHT FUCKING ROCKED!! :D

  39. andrea says:

twilight rocked and you guys sucked. lol
dont you have anything else to do besides commenting bad things on movies ?
if you know how acting is, you would know how dificult it is.

    -andrea !

    • Death by Taco says:

Well, spelling properly isn’t that “dificult”. And if you’re a suck actor, you shouldn’t act. There’s the solution.

  40. Mittens says:

One of my friends loves the books from both films, and I think only yhte HP books are good. Honestly, the better the book, the crappier the film.

  41. Talulah says:

So, why can I only add two captions to my favourites? I was going to add this one, but after I added the second, the option completely disappeared

  42. Vron says:

Fuck that. Rather see Equus (which, regardless of how naked anyone is, is actually good stuff). In fact, my friend will be in NYC seeing it on MY birthday. Hmf.

  43. la says:

i absollutly luuurrvved Twilight!!! best moovie i have ever seem XD harry potter suk seriously!! i mean god he looks like a 12yr old trying desperatly to get attention! gimme rob pattinson to snog anyday ;)

  44. Caitlin says:

Wow! The epic battle between HP fans and Twilight fans ensues.

    (btw, HP wins!!)

  45. julie says:

OK. TWILIGHT ROXKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CAre to say otherwise, I rip your heads off.. Harry Potter hsa no point, no love, no good story, no intresting characters, no forbidden love, no humor, vampires, werewolves, clans, or anything fun.. And they dont even spell Maygk right!!!! To say Twilight sucks should be banned from this world.. Oh, and see a doctor.. Something is wrong with you head. *throws HArry Potter at wall and burns it*

    • MM'sVampire says:

….Have you even READ the HP series?! There ARE werewolves, interesting characters, love (in many forms), and a great load of ‘fun’…..’Maygk’, eh….? W2g…

    • Death by Taco says:

You’re an idiotic twit. You’re a stupid, stubborn twelve year old who is to absorbed by Robert Pattinson’s “HAWTNESS” to see the book clearly for what it is: a sham and a mockery of fantasy writings everywhere. No point? No love? No good story? No interesting characters? No humor? No vampires, werewolves, or anything fun? First off, since when do vampires and werewolves equal a good story? They don’t. My Sister’s Keeper. There. Great story. No sparkly vampires. And Harry Potter has ALL of that.

  46. heatherrrrrrrrrj says:

Uh…. Twilight is a good book.
Movie just ruined it for all the people (including me) who read the books before the movie was released and all the teenies came out with OMG I LOVE ROB I SAW HIM FIRST I MEAN EDWARD I HATE BELLA SHE HAS EDWARD blah blah blah.

Harry Potter movies are better, but I like the Twilight saga. If Harry Potter movies didn’t cut so much out (I know they have to SO DONT GO TELLING ME!!!!) it would be a lot more appealing to me. But I still think it’s better than the Twilight movie.

  47. Katemonster says:

Pattinson was SOOOOOOOOOO much hotter here.
Twilight is ok. I mean, It’s cool I guess but it doesn’t deserve ALL this hype.
    Harry Potter was AWESOME.

  48. Grace says:

Apparently this blog is absolutely cluttered with fangirls. Ugh! why can’t they just diminish into thin air?

  49. Mana says:

    • Death By Taco [begs to differ] says:

“its not fun arguing with people like Emily or julie”
Beg to differ. I somewhat enjoy this.

  55. SpellingNazi says:

I’m gonna go right out there and say: they’re both crap.
On one side, you’ve got horribly wooden acting and kids waving round sticks firing sparks everywhere. If you’re going to do a magic themed story, why the hell did it have to be wands??? that’s so horribly oldschool and pathetic to watch.

on the other, you’ve got a vegetarian vampire in desperate need of a tan, and a completely infatuated girl following him round like he’s a rockin’ jesus. yes, i understand it’d be awesome to have a vampire as a bf, but she comes off as sooo needy and clingy

    • Death By Taco says:

Actually, the Harry Potter kids’ acting has evolved over time. Daniel Radcliffe started the series when he was eleven. You can’t have expected an Oscar-worthy preformance. But, if you saw HBP, their acting has gotten a LOT better, even though Daniel still breathes through his mouth a lot. And you say that HP’s acting is wooden, but you don’t mention Twilight’s acting?! Robert Pattinon is twenty-one. You’d think that would be old enough to form a complete sentence! But, alas, he kept his Forest Gump face on the entire time… And Kristen Stewart?! I’d love to slap her, just to see if she can even feel pain.

  56. ambereyes says:

I think that Harry Potter was very well-written, even if something will eventually top it. The world that Harry Potter is set in has created incredibly imaginative fanfiction (which, if you go to the right website, can end up being written really well). The end was rushed, but was well-written and carefully though out all the same. JKR is a very good writer with a fantastic imagination, and her books have created a new generation of writers who may create bestsellers in time because of these books. I like this series, I am personally a fan, but I respect other people’s criticisms.

Twilight is very popular, and it will probably remembered, if for the popularity rather than it’s literary promise. It, if by accident or not, actually helped teenage girls. The standards of today (be absolutely beautiful or you’ll die alone with lots of cats) have been challenged by the idea of a perfect vampire in love with a normal human. Stephanie Meyer is not the greatest writer in the world, but she can show emotion well in what she writes. I don’t like the books personally, but I respect its awesome power :D

Oh, and by the way, I’m 14 and I wrote this in 3 minutes. :P

    • paws4thot says:

      Well reasoned and argued.

I don’t entirely agree with you, thinking that HP 5 and 6 could have stood a bit of editing to reduce the flab.

My big problem with the Twilight series is that it removes pretty much all the disadvantages of being a vampire.

  57. lissardo42 says:

Ok, as far the movies: Harry Potter sucks,Twilight REALLY sucks! As far the books: Harry Potter good but still overratted, Twilight overrated.

  58. Megabolt says:

Wow…These photo comments are magnets for pointless arguments

  59. Mark says:

    Who’s Edward?

  60. Susan says:

I must say here that I have read both Twilight and Harry Potter.

Given a choice, Harry Potter would win. That series dominated my childhood. I had to have every book at midnight of the day it was released. I would then spend the rest of the morning reading them. And then I would go online, discuss, and anxiously chew my fingernails over waiting for the next book. When I held the seventh book in my hands, I cried. It was the ending to a wonderful childhood experience.

On the other hand, Twilight sounded interesting. I read it. I liked it. I joined Team Jacob. Personally, I think Bella and Edward’s relationship is seriously flawed. Bella needs to learn how exist by herself. One person cannot be your entire life.

That is what I have to say after reading the previous comments, some of which are quite nasty. More civility, please?

  61. bloody rose says:

i want to fuck them both

  62. mella says:

    ok people stop fighting
first twilight (the book) is good the bad thing even tough i regret saying this the movie suked it was bad… but i stiil love twilight

  63. Death By Taco says:

I’ll see your Robert Pattinson and raise you a Tom Felton!

  64. Death By Taco says:

Twiligh fangirls scare me. One of them growled at me once. Seriously.

  65. Death By Taco says:

The only thing I have to say about the fangirls is that at least it’s safe to say they’ll never reproduce.

  66. LightningStorm says:

    • Death by Taco says:

      I LOVE POTTER PUPPET PALS!
But what this video has to do with the LOL, I have no idea…unless you mean the Twilight reference in the beginning…

“You already took my money, Harry!”

      • Claire says:

Button, oh button, oh where hath thou fled?
Did thee tarry too long amongst fabric and thread?
Did thee roll off my bosom and cease to exist?
How I wish I could follow thee into the mist…

    • Sam says:

I like the bit where it says :
“Hey I see your name Harry”
      “*whispers*Wow! You’re good at reading Hermione.” :p

  67. Lar says:

Ah, when R Pattz was kinda cute.

  70. Alison says:

Daniel Radcliffe ran around naked on Broadway and NOBODY TOLD ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the hell kind of world IS this!!!!!????????

P.S. I hated the first Twilight book and swore to never read the rest, unlike most other girls my age. I like Harry Potter waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better!!!!!!!!! Suck on that, Twilight fandom!!!!!!!!

    • paws4thot says:

Equus is a play by Peter Shaffer written in 1973, telling the story of a psychiatrist who attempts to treat a young man who has a pathological religious/sexual fascination with horses. Daniel R has appeared in both London West End and Broadway productions of the play in the last 2 or 3 years. HTH.

  71. Foxxy says:

Errm, since when have guys wearing pasty white makeup and hanging around in the dark been hot? That’s just plain creepy…

  72. Virginia says:

@TF Do you wanna go on a date? A classicaly trained actor is my kind of guy. BTW I was a zanni in Taming of the Shrew and an extra witch in Macbeth.
    ahahahaah Yeah twilight sucks cake

  73. ashley says:

i like them both… I mean why can’t someone like both and stop whining about how one sux and the other one doesn’t? it took them both a lot of courage to even THINK of sending it in to be published. I wish I was half as brave. They both are winners for creating such an interesting book about different aspects of the fantasy genre. so i think that people should show more respect for others opinions…
