Cher can, when she wants to, behave like a normal human being; it is just that she doesn’t want to all that often. She also has a sense of fun; Madonna takes herself so seriously.

What’s with all the Madonna hate lately? Not that I’m a fan; I’ve hated Madonna since the 80s–I just wanted to know if she did something especially odious recently that pissed everyone off?
She looks like an antique leather bag, but she still prances aroung nearly naked.
Yeah, not so much. She’s older and uglier than Madonna, which is insane because she’s had A LOT more work done than Madonna (not that I care for either of them). Also less talented, and that was a hard feat until Brittany and her clones.

@2, That’s what I said. I just pointed out that Cher is less talented than Madonna. I understand these are small margins, none of them are THAT talented, they could just be produced well enough to sell albums when they were still relevant.

I’ve been noticing that there’s a lot of justifying of celebrities who have been out of the spotlight for a while, and are referred to as “better than” whatever comparable person is currently getting the attention.
10 and 20 years ago, Cher was a nut. The only difference between her and Madonna is that Cher’s been out of the news for a while.
And Cher never looks like she wants to eat your liver.

She was also wonderful in Silkwood and The Witches of Eastwick and Moonstruck. She’s quite a talented and underrated actress, whereas Madonna’s movies… um, perhaps not so much.

I’m not sure it’s from the 80s but it is at least several years old. The last awards show I saw her on, she still looked fricking fabulous, and she said (and I love her for this) “I’d like to apologize to the Academy for dressing like a grownup, I’ll try not to do it again.”

Madonna always looked to me like that Italian chick from down the street that everybody um, knows, and really that’s basically what she is. A nice girl from the neighborhood with not a lot of talent, who let fame go to her tiny head.
Cher on the other hand is, well, a star.
I don’t think we would still be talking about Madonna if she weren’t talented- you cannot sell billions of albums and sell out stadiums worldwide on shock value alone…
…though, not by much. :/

I see ALOT of Madonna bashing on here- why? Who ever said that when a woman reaches a certain age she has to become a nun? Cher and Tina Turner can still run around stage in skimpy outfits, why can’t Madonna? I think it’s simply because she’s still successful, and that bothers people. Can’t you find anything else to sit around bitching about? Madonna is a LIVING LEGEND, who has earned the right to do whatever she wants and still has millions of fans panting for more. She’s still selling out stadiums worldwide after 26 years, so that has to say something. Jealous, maybe? How immature you people are…
No, she was born in 1958. I suppose women aren’t supposed to age…
