I had the misfortune to actually hear them perform on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve (a New Year’s Eve tradition in my house). I immediately jammed an ice pick in my ears. I’m completely deaf now, but I figure it’s a small price to pay to never risk accidentally hearing them again.

Ok. There’s way too much unnecessary hostility toward these guys. Sure – their music is horrible, but I’m willing to bet most folks captioning these are jealous; heck – I wish I could make millions singing poorly written music to a bunch of people with a lack in taste for talent.

I love how ‘jealousy’ is often mistaken for a word called ‘dislike’. I hate or perhaps just dislike the Jonas brothers because I’ve seen kids in the 6th grade sing better them and never get any type of respect. I understand having a good group of kids who are respectful of adults is a great thing but why would you let them sing on the basis of just that. Music is music, personal attitude toward others isn’t a big factor of that unless you can make a great song about it. I haven’t heard any decent songs about respecting parents lately or ever on that note.

By all accounts they are polite to adults, respectful to their parents, and kind to animals and small children. That their music is hyped beyond their minimal talents is the fault of the adults around them.

i agree zombiekitty. Hanson are just amazing people all around. i always liked them. They’re still making music and am still a fan. People remember Hanson from the mmmbop days but they’re music has evolved so much from then. And they’re dedicated and amazing musicians.
Ive been saying this for a few years now. And how are The Brothers Jonai nominated for Best New Artist? Their first cd came out in 2006. And as for the comment about teenagers? The oldest Jonas boy is the same age as Zac Hanson..23 (or about that age). Two of them are legal adults.

Ok first of all Hanson and Jonas Brothers have two things in common, one being brothers, and two they both play their own instruments. Other than that they’re nothing alike. Hanson was good for their crowd of fans and for the time they were around. But that was also the late 90’s early 00’s. I have not heard anything about Hanson or even music from them in like 5 years. However they appealed to teenage girls when they were big, as do the Jonas Brothers now. The Jonas Brothers appeal to the teenage girls and the younger crowds. Its understandable for anyone over the age of say 17 to not like the Jonas Brothers. Their music, and lyrics reflect them as brothers and as teenagers eventhough the oldest is in his early 20’s. It’s nice to see three guys like them in the public eye because they are amazing role models for the younger crowd. And yes I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion and you may already have your mind set that you absolutely can’t stand the Jonas Brothers but take a moment to look at what they are really all about and if making music is their dream then they’re setting a good example for more people to follow their dreams.
