  1. Green Is Good says:

It’s not that she’s overweight. It’s that outfit! It’s awful, and definitely not flattering for her figure.

  2. Lexie says:

She looks just fine! It is a cute outfit and even if she HAD gained weight, good for her! She’s got a WOMANLY SHAPE. Twigs aren’t sexy.

    • MushuPork says:

Hey, some of us can’t help being twigs XD

But I agree, it’s unnecessary to go after her for a few pounds. Hollywood’s just got an idiotic status quo.

      • Gin says:

You may be thin, Mushupork, but if you’re naturally that way you’ll look a lot better than those starved Hollywood actresses. The fact that they’ve starved themselves tends to show; if you look closely, especially at their hands, you can see areas where the flesh and muscle has just disappeared. In other areas the bones look like they’re going to pierce through the skin. A naturally thin person doesn’t have that fleshless, cancerous look like that.

And yeah, not a Jessica Simpson fan, but I think she looks great in that pic.

        • MushuPork says:

Yeah, I know. Just saying… I needed to laugh. My hip bones though… there’s no helping those. It looks like someone put a pair of boomerangs under my skin.

    • gnet says:

      …spoken like a true fatty

      • inked_hippie says:

spoken like a true 14 year old boy who knows dick about dick

        • saicho18 says:

          *applause*

        • Spiral says:

I resent that, as I am a 14 year old boy and this guy(gnet)’s just too idiotic to live.

        • gnet says:

          im a girl….and a bit older than 14

          • Kirugami Yoshi says:

That’s hard to believe. You comment like a child.

            • cem says:

You’d be amazed. I’m a female grad student and was at a group dinner with a bunch of classmates, and a 23 year old very-thin female in the group was making fun of overweight people at other tables.

I’ve seen a trend that women who are obsessed with their own figures tend to be a lot more critical of extra pounds on those around them. It’s their own insecurities coming through.

I don’t know enough about Jessica Simpson’s body type, weight, height, muscle mass, eating/exercise habits and BMI to pass judgment on her for this sort of stuff. Good for her for putting herself out there even though I’m sure her publicist was freaking out the whole time. I’m not overweight, but I still have curves, so if Jessica Simpson is keeping herself within healthy ranges, everyone else should just stfu.

      • uberswtgrl777 says:

        Spoken like a true doushebag.

      • Gin says:

Thank you for contributing to the idea that women must be 25 pounds underweight to be attractive. We don’t get enough reminders you know. Thanks to people like you there are women starving themselves and puking up their food. Better still you and they help encourage us and our daughters to starve ourselves too! Now, you can go on, and pat yourself ont he back for being such a good person.

        • MaxxiBuggz says:

If girls want to puke their food up that is their fault. I have no sympathy for anorexics or bulimics. And I dont consider eating disorders ‘mental illness’. What a crock of shit.

And no one said that women have to be 25 lbs UNDERWEIGHT to be attractive, but thanks for trying.

You completely missed the point of that celebLoL.

    • MLD says:

from THAT angle it’s a cute outfit. from the front, it looks really bad, and very very unflattering.

I agree about the weight, I do NOT think she’s overweight at all. It really is just the crappy outfits

    • DeathWyrmNexus says:

I actually rather dig the curves sported in this picture… Makes my swatting hand twitch… >_>

  3. Agent00 says:

You must mean five pounds per ass cheek.

  4. 2nd says:

    Second !

  5. jl5691426 says:

I think it’s just a bad camera angle. Either way, I agree with Lexie; she looks good. Those who criticize her do so out of envy. It’s from women who don’t look as good and men who can’t do as well.

  6. digital subversion says:

5 extra pounds, and still, we all would date her so hard and so fast…

  7. freddie says:

five pounds? haha, you missed a zero. 50 extra pounds on the fat chic.

  8. Dave says:

I think she looks pretty yummy LOL :o )

  9. Jenessa says:

a little extra weight: good idea
high-waisted mom jeans and a leopard print belt: not so much

    • StreetPreacher says:

      Hear, hear.

If you look at phots of this outfit taken from other angles, the wide belt gives her muffin tops above and below it, while the high-waisted granny jeans make her look bottom heavy. Other photos of her in one-piece dresses and fitted jackets are far, far more flattering.

If you choose to rock a curvy shape, you’ve got to dress the part.

      • Lynn Nexus says:

Problem is she didn’t go all the way and used a belt.. Just go for the damn cincher or a corset if you really want to do that. But hey.. Her ass looks damn good in the high wasted jeans.

      • MaxxiBuggz says:

Choose? Are you nuts? Who would want to be big?? Just read these comments….any one who truly is big would do anything to be smaller. Not everyone can be 80 lbs with diet and exercise. Some people just arent meant to be tiny….and can never fix it.

    • Casey says:

Gotta tell ya, so-called mom jeans look buttloads better than the dam muffin-topped ones. Better’n seein’ the flab hang over.

    • MLD says:

leopard print DOUBLE belt, even -_-

      • Tessie says:

that was pretty much my thought… her face and figure look attractive, but TWO leopard print belts?? girlfriend has lost her damn mind

    • DeathWyrmNexus says:

She had a belt? I wasn’t looking for a belt… I was just looking at what needed a spanking. >_<

  10. ladykitteh says:

I think it has to do with the camera angle as well as her turning back to look at it. Either way, it’s definately not flattering. She looks like Jennifer Coolidge…

  11. Michelle says:

    more like 20 extra

  12. calicis says:

I don’t know, my male co-worker said, “we pay millions of dollars to see Hollywood; she’s not “curvy,” she’s fat. Plain and simple.” -__-

  13. geekd says:

This “leave her alone” stuff about Jessica Simpson gaining weight is annoying. The fact is, it’s her job to look hot. You think she’s famous for singing? Ha! She’s famous for being hot. So her getting fat is like me surfing Lolcats all day at work. She’s not doing her job.

    • Segaphile says:

She’s not fat, that’s the issue.

Secondly, she’s a PERSON. You are not employing her by being a consumer of entertainment.

    • charro says:

If you don’t like the way she looks, quit buying her crap. Then you’re not paying her anymore.

    • DeathWyrmNexus says:

I could have sworn her job was to sing… Silly me. Also, she IS hot. Some of us aren’t stuck on the 10 year old boy look. Some of us poor deluded men are addicted to the curves of a woman. Imagine that, I want something worth the hand that swats it. I actually want some boobs to grope. Geez, I understand this is a difficult concept to a person Obviously as worldly as you since you apparently love the feminine figure you see in starving third world countries…

Also I have yet to see a super thin model that I found hot and if it is her job to look hot, well I see that lovely behind and it makes me think of a good bit of sex with a bit of spanking cuz of how sweet her ass looks.

So I will brand that a big Mission Accomplished in the hot department and go about my day.

      • Kirugami Yoshi says:

I think any straight male who actually CARES and COMPLAINS that she’s gained weight is probably just being a bitch because he couldn’t dream of landing a girl who looks that sexy so he’s taking it out by bashing pretty celeb photos. Jessica Simpson WIN! SEXY!

    • MarriaJ says:

She IS hot. As my husband points out, he’d rather date a woman with curves than a pile of wire coathangers.

  14. miss.nessa says:

    terrible outfit
but comparin her figure now to how it was before, you’d be a complete moron if you say its more than a handful of pounds gained. she wasn’t a stick, deal with it people

    • ginganinja says:

Are you kidding? If you compare pictures of her now (size 10-ish) and then (size 4) she looks way healthier now. She was pretty darn twiggy a few years ago.

      • Gio says:

That and her boobs looked like they were going to carry her face first into the ground at any moment. Now she’s a tad more evened out.

      • podgirl says:

You’re kidding yourself if you think she’s a size 10. I’m bigger than she is, and I’m only a size 6.

        • Ellusion says:

Yeah, I’m a size 10, same height as her, and she’s a LOT bigger than me. She’s probably rockin’ a 14/16 these days.

When Jenifer Love Hewitt gained a bit, I loved how she looked. Same with Tyra. But honestly, I don’t love this weight gain on Jessica. I don’t think she’s fat, but she is on the heavier end of “normal” and it’s not flattering on her, especially in this outfit, but also around the face.

But whatever. She’ll probably do what JLH and Tyra both did, defending their shape as publicly as they can, then gracing the covers of tabloids only a month later for how fast they slimmed down through the power of diet and exercise (and trainers, and private chefs, and diet pills).

        • CarmenT says:

Keep in mind that Jessica is a whopping 5′ 2.5″ tall. Five pounds on her is different than 5 pounds on my 5′ 11″ daughter, and different than on me (5′ 7.5″ tall).
The take away message for Ms Simpson from all the attention is; “Don’t wear jeans with pockets that gap and a high waist.”
          And; “Some people are jerkwads.”

      • tess says:

You do realise shes short too, right?
at 120 lbs, she would be a size 4/5.

A healthy fat percentage for someone her age would be about 22-23%.

While I disagree with the rudeness of people saying shes fat, I think she has gained a bit and feel she looked healthier before.

And no, I don’t care for the rail thin models either, before anyone accuses me of that. I like healthly. This preoccupation people have with either the skin and bones look or the other extreme, the ‘curves are sexy,’ are both sad. I wish the media would promote those who eat right and exercise as being ’sexy.’

  15. Kelly says:

an extra 5 pounds is death throughout society these days. heaven forbid we not be sticks.

  16. Mary says:

Thank God! A REAL woman! Took much for most guys…….

    • BAM says:

So that’s what a REAL woman is? Sorry, I didn’t get that memo. So should I gorge myself till I gain enough weight to fit your standards of what a real woman is?
All women are real. I’m healthy. Fuck you for telling me I’m not real.

  17. José says:

    I’m using a widescreen so make it 10 :-)
    Seriously, she looks fine.

  18. Serry says:

She’s gained much more than 5 lbs. And the ONLY reason she looks like a “real woman” is because the vast majority of women are OVERWEIGHT. If everyone we fit and in shape, then you guys would be calling her fat and there would be no one sticking up for her. Which is how I think it should be purely for health reasons. She’s out of shape and it’s bad for her. Period. I think she should get zero praise.

And just in case you’re going to ask, I’m a size 3, 103 lbs, 5′2″ tall and a varisty athlete. I take care of my body and I’m very proud to be thin!

    • dick says:

No one was going to ask, but since you brought it up…at that weight you’re likely a B cup at max and they only reason you look good at that weight is because you’re so young. As woman age they need a little extra weight to make them look soft, otherwise they look boney and frail, even when they’re in shape.

      • Serry says:

I mentioned it because the women who did call her big we’re asked their weight.

And I’m 21. I’m just tiny- weight and height wise.

        • inked_hippie says:

if you’re naturally tiny, that’s one thing. If you acknowledge that you’re “just tiny” then you need to realize there are women who are naturally larger. We can’t all be a size three and, honestly, I wouldn’t want to be.

          • pic girl 7 says:

i too am naturally tiny, however im cannot believe all the abuse jessica is getting for gaining some weight. how dare she eat a hamburger! fans of jessica simpson*and i will admit now, im not really one of them* should be fans because they like her music. anyone who is a fan because they want to “do her” is not a fan, but a pervert! also, id like to know how fit most of the men complaning are. and if they know how diffiuclt it is for women, we are judged if we are too thin, we are judged if we arent thin enough. men dont get half the flack we get. as far as im conserned, the problem here is jessica’s stylist, not her “extra weight.” some bodies are supposed to be at a specific weight.

        • Ang says:

WOW .. YOU know we are all built differnt. Not just height but bone wise too .. so being 5′2 and 103 lbs is GREAT go girl BUT if I was 103 lbs I would BE DEAD .. Go to a DOC and they will tell you that you can’t go by other peoples frames .. GEESH chill out .. Curves no curves we are Beautiful … this negitive stuff is why there are to many kids out there so damned skinny that they are close to death .. what ever happend to just being healthy …

      • laura says:

I’m 5′2″, 83 pounds (not because I’m anorexic; I’ve been trying to gain weight for about a year and haven’t), and a C cup.
Not that you probably actually care. :)

        • stencer says:

          Maybe if you stuff.

          • laura says:

I promise. I was wearing a 32B and they were really uncomfortable. Buying 32Cs was one of the better choices I’ve made recently.
My roommate is 5′7″, 120ish, and a 32DD. We do exist.

I don’t have a problem with naturally large girls. I do have a problem with anorexia and the image that Hollywood projects in support of it. However, things like “The Real Campaign” and “Real Women Have Curves” upset me, too. Thanksgiving day, I ate 3000 calories and lost a pound. Does that make me a fake woman?

            • stencer says:

I can’t see an 83 pound girl with a C chest. That would mean every once of fat on your body is in your boobs. I’m 140 and a D chest right now, but when I lost weight down to under 100, my boobs fell to a small B.

              • laura says:

Just because your body isn’t built like mine doesn’t mean that I’m lying. I’m exceptionally thin. With big(ish, for my size) boobs. Believe it or not. My boobs are the last place I lose weight & the first place I gain, so whenever my weight fluctuates…

                • stencer says:

I’m just saying–I have big boobs for my size. You’re BMI is way lower than what is healthy and still say you have big tits. If you’re not lying, you need to go to the doctor and get on weight gain pills

                  • laura says:

My doctor and I have discussed my weight. He told me that as long as it’s stable and I’m not doing it to myself, which I’m not, then it’s fine. As soon as I start missing periods, I’m supposed to tell him and we’ll go from there, but until then, I’m comfortable being who I am, naturally.
If I could put on 15 or 20 pounds, trust me, I would.

                    • the_precious says:

My friend is 6′2″ and she was very thin with huge boobs. She’s a DD or something, and she’s been healthy. She’s gained a little weight but she’s still pretty thin. The big boobs run in her family.

                  • yourprecious says:

BMI becomes less accurate when you’re at the taller or shorter end of the scale. And dude, telling somebody to go to the doctor and take weight gain pills….complex much?

      • StreetPreacher says:

A “B cup” is actually (as of the last time I looked it up…) the average bust size of the American female. Which is now tending towards C due solely to the overabundance of recombinant bovine growth hormone in our milk, excreted birth control hormones in our water, and ballooning American waistline. Sooo… yeah.

    • inked_hippie says:

what people consider these days to be overweight is repulsive to me. Marilyn Monroe was a size 14 and she was beautiful and certainly NOT overweight. And in case your bony ass wants to know, I’m 5′4″ and a size 12…and quite healthy I might add thankyouverymuch. I’m not out of shape, I just naturally have a larger frame. I would look like an idiot as a size 3.

      • inked_hippie says:

my sincere apologies for the “bony ass” comment. I thought you were putting your size up there to show off, not because you figured someone would ask. Again, I apologize for assuming.

      • Bob says:

I just want to say that Marilyn was a size 14, but that was in the 50’s scale. Today she would be a size 12, witch is still considered “fat” by today’s standards.

        • inked_hippie says:

good to know! I didn’t realize sizes have changed that much. But then again, people are getting skinnier and we’re now making up sizes to fit to ever diminishing waistline of America. I would wager the size 00 did not exist in 1950. Thanks for the info Bob!!

          • Lucy says:

Actually, America’s waistband is growing ever larger. Obesity in the United States has more than doubled from 13% in the 1960’s to 30% in 2000. Only about a third of America was overweight in the 1950’s. That has also doubled to 65% in 2000. The reason why size zero exists is because the sizing system must grow with the average population. Marilyn Monroe wouldn’t have been that far off from a size 0 today. Her measurements were 36-24-36. Today’s size zero is 32-24-34. She would be about a size 2 or 4 today.

            • Jenessa says:

              I’m 36-24-36 (on the dot, i measured) and I’m a size 8-12 in dresses

              • Lucy says:

Where do YOU shop? I’m 34-24-32 and I wear size 2.

                • Lucy says:

Sorry, those measurements are a little backward. 32 bust, 24 waist, 34 hip.

                  • Kitty says:

I’m a 36-26-38, i.e. very curvy, and a size 4-12 dress. It really depends on brands.
Most dresses are tight in the bust and really forgiving in the hip.
I think that anyone who thinks Jessica is ugly is … stupid.
Anyone who thinks Marilyn Monroe was fat is just freaking blind.
I hope she keeps the weight, and sets a new standard in Hollywood.
I hate myself when I get home from movies sometimes.
No “normal” women in them make me feel like an absolute alien.

AND HELLO I’M NOT OVERWEIGHT so there’s something wrong with that.

                    • Lyss says:

Seriously, everyone is built different. I know my wrist circumference is about 3 1/2 inches bigger than the “average” woman, so when I weighed about 140, I was a bit sickly looking. Granted, I’m 5′9, and well, I’m proportionate. Anyway, it varies, and, you know, as long as you’re healthy, who freakin cares?

              • cosmicfish says:

                I’m a 36-30-40 and I wear an 8 or 10.

            • Ophelia says:

I’m afraid your information is a little off. Bear in mind that Hollywood often fudged the numbers on their stars measurments and Marilyn Monroe was known for her yo-yo dieting (Prescription diet pills were found on the scene when she overdosed).
Also, there is no standard manufacture sizing guidelines, which is why a size 8 in one brand will fit but a size 8 in another brand might be a tad too confining.
You might find the following link interesting.
              http://www.snopes.com/movies/actors/mmdress.asp

              • MLD says:

thanks for the link–that was an interesting read (and Liz Hurley is a B!tch). It seems, according to the snopes page that British sizes are roughly equivalent to vintage american sizes

              • Lucy says:

I googled Marylin’s measurements quickly. I went with the general consensus. I don’t know the details of her life. I never said there were any manufacture guidelines. I didn’t say, “She will be exactly a size 4. Exactly. In all clothes, ever.” I even acknowledged the size discrepancies with a generalization. And there are generalizations to sizes. Small women wouldn’t bother trying on a size sixteen, and robust women won’t even try squeezing into a size two. If you are a size 8, you are going to wear sizes in that range (6-10). You aren’t going to suddenly jump ten sizes because you are trying on a different brand of jeans.

        • Rookie says:

Actually, she would have been like a size 6 by today’s standards. What we now call a 0 was something like an 8 back then…and no, 00 didn’t exist. She would have been “fat” by Hollywood standards, but she’d be much thinner than most women in this country today.

      • StreetPreacher says:

Size 14 at the time. Unfortunately, due to the ballooning American waistline, sizes have gone up as well. A *vintage* size 14 is nowhere near as large as *today’s* size 14… something to keep in mind when scoping out vintage duds, as well as Monroe curve-worshipping.

      • roisin says:

Yes Marilyn Monroe was a size 14 at some points in her life, Her weight fluctuated. Don’t think that is the same as a size 14 today. My friend collects dress patterns and the measurements for a size 14 back then is more like a size 10 or even a size 8. Sizes have changed over time.

        • Khaliera says:

Dress patterns are completely different; sewing sizes bear no resemblance whatsoever to clothing sizes you would find in a store. When I got into sewing, I was a size 0 in the store (yeah, I was a stick. Took a pregnancy to finally break the 100-pound mark.) but in a sewing pattern, I was a size 10. I don’t think pattern sizes have changed as much as clothing sizes have; a sewing size 14 would be something like a 2-4 in the store, I guess.

    • charro says:

Unhealthy?! UNHEALTHY?! She has a little extra weight on her than most Hollywood bimbos and is most certainly NOT unhealthy. It’s only recently IN THE HISTORY OF MAN that this “extremely skinny Hollywood ideal” has become “in”. I think if a million years of evolution have worked so far, we can continue another million years having extra weight around.
That is of course if we don’t kill ourselves first, or become so dependent on machines that we let them live our lives for us..

    • Nashboo says:

Seriously . . . ? You think that is unhealthy?

People like YOU are the reason she’s being called fat, because you think the only good size is YOUR size. Well guess what, honey, people come in different sizes, and just because some are a bit larger than you doesn’t make them unhealthy.

    • Snickers says:

Some people can exercise all they can and eat as healthfully as they can and still not become a size 3. Some people aren’t meant to be frightfully skinny.

      • charro says:

Gee, if only everyone could understand that.
While I’m dreaming, I would like a pony.

        • lolMiel says:

And I’d like people to understand that being thin doesn’t make you no longer a “real woman.” @.@

I wish it didn’t always have to be so black and white.

          • Khaliera says:

Yay, thank you! It’s hard for people of small AND large sizes to understand that the insults get thrown both ways; both groups tend to think they’re picked on the most.

If you’re a healthy, natural size 0, I don’t think people should call you “frightfully skinny” or decide that you absolutely must have an eating disorder. Believe me, I know women who would kill to be you.

If you’re a healthy, natural size 14, I don’t think people should call you fat or assume that you stuff your face at every opportunity. Believe me, I know women who would kill to be you.

    • J says:

If everyone were fit and in shape, we’d realize that there are many different base body types in the world and not everyone is stick-thin. Also, womanly refers to having curves, particularily in the breast, butt, thigh and belly regions. Without a certain percentage of body fat, women cannot conceive nevermind feed a baby, and this is why so many people in Hollywood have a hard time getting pregnant- they’re dangerously thin.

She is also VERY far from being overweight, are you even aware of the criteria for that categorization? She is at a healthy body weight, nad so what if it fluctuates a little bit? Most women gain a couple extra pounds as they age.

And in case YOU’RE going to ask, I’m a size six, 165 centimetres tall (5′6″), 65 kg (143 lbs), bra size 32E (ie CURVY) and an athlete.

    • Jenessa says:

that’s just it, her current weight is perfectly healthy! If everyone were in shape a lot of women would look like her. Those twigs in hollywood are called twigs because they’re the only healthy people, they’re called that because they’re underweight

    • hmmmm says:

If everyone were “fit and in shape” (that itself is stupid because some fat people can be fit if they take care of themselves properly) everything would be fucking boring.

I don’t get why people just can’t DEAL with other people being fat, I mean god unless they fall or sit on you its not gonna kill you if SOMEONE ELSE is fat/obese.

    • Vilebird says:

Which is why you are hating on Jessica.

Curves are natural, being straight like a bean pole is not(for most women anyway)

There is nothing wrong with being thin but harassing people who are exactly like you is ridiculous. And that’s the whole point isn’t it?

We are all different shapes and sizes, so grow up and learn to live with the fact not everyone is only about 100 pounds like you are.

      • Vilebird says:

After reading your comment again Serry, I find I have to add something to mine.
You say “If everyone we fit and in shape, then you guys would be calling her fat and there would be no one sticking up for her. Which is how I think it should be purely for health reasons.”
Are you trying to say that we should do our best as a society to rip apart people who don’t measure up to your standards of healthiness by calling them fat, ridiculing them, and giving them absolutely no support no encouragement when it may be the time they most need it?
Well you can just go stick your twiggy head in a blender and put it on frappe! I had a friend who developed anorexia because people like you thought it was appropriate to called her “fatty” “big blimp” “Pig” and other horrible names even though she was at most maybe a tad overweight. Do you even understand the psychological damage done to people when you do crap like that to them?! When everyone is calling you fat and no one stick up and tells you “Hey that’s not true!” then you can start to see yourself as a big ugly fat slob that no one will love and that leads to serious problems with self-esteem self-image and a increasingly low self-worth! My friend dropped pound after pound even after people had stopped calling her fat and ended up in a hospital because she was literally nothing but skin and bones!
You ought to be ashamed of yourself for EVER thinking it is appropriate for ridiculing someone because they don’t measure up to your standards of “healthy” or they aren’t as thin as you are.
I would break your stick-like behind over my knee if I caught you saying something like that in real life, get over yourself you broomstick moron and stop thinking you’re better than everyone else and can judge people just because you are thin!!

    • Lisbeth says:

I’m jumping on the bandwagon here, and replying to you. At my healthiest and skinniest, I was involved in marching band, drama (running around like a chicken with its head cut off backstage), and winter guard, all of which involved a lot of running and lifting things. I was slender for my size, and I kid you not, my ribs poked out.

      I was 170 pounds, 5′8″, and wore a size 12. And I looked GOOD.

My healthy is not my sister’s healthy (5′9″, size 4, MAYBE 120 pounds), and my sister’s healthy is not your healthy. Please don’t bash every woman who’s built big like I’m built big – every human is different, and that’s the best part of us all.

    • Rattus says:

Wow. Proud to be thin. That is quite an accomplishment. It must have taken years of study and effort to achieve the thin. A big hand for the tiny lady.

    • MushuPork says:

Oooh, congratulations miss “varisty”. You sure you don’t mean “varsity”?

There are a lot of overweight people in this world, but it is still far from a vast majority.

Anyway, I’m 5′10″, 108, and a band geek, I NEVER work out and I don’t think she’s that bad. You’re just itty bitty all over, your metabolism’s different, your body is different. Regardless of how much you eat versus how much she eats, or how much you work out versus her, your bodies will function differently. Quit flaunting your health-nuttiness please.

    • Orlana says:

Oh goodie. This attitude. Well, by society’s standards, and your’s apparently, I’m just a huge fat ass. At my thinnest I’m still wearing a size 12 because I’m curvy. I’m 5′2″ with an hourglass figure. It makes me look “fat”. Not all of us can be blessed with looking like a 12 year old boy. Those of us with curves, don’t automatically deem us overweight.

Also, there are plenty of people who are overweight who are incredibly healthy. Healthier than a lot of normal weight individuals. And being a little overweight doesn’t mean you are out of shape, either. As an athlete, you should know this. Unless you’ve had a lot of negative information forced into your head by the individuals telling you winning is everything rather than people giving you proper information about diet and nutrition and a healthy life style.

  19. Elsie says:

    She’s still hot.

  20. Madyson says:

That’s not 5 lbs. It’s more 25 lbs. Jeez, at least be honest about it.

  21. C Lyn says:

Really? Overweight? Maybe a tiny bit. Fat? I think not.

I’m 5′ 7″, I weigh 140lbs and I’m 18. I’m a size 11-13 (Brands change sizes) and My BMI is 22inches. I’m at the exact weight I should be. My BMI is right were it needs to be. But being a little overweight is HEALTHIER for you. It has been proven that those who are slightly overweight than were they should be will live a longer and healthier life AND will have less chances at getting certain diseases and health problems as they are older.

Jessica could do to lose maybe 10lbs but she is healthy and beautiful. Be it thin or a bit more of a curvy chick, she is pretty and she is bringing back what Marylin Monroe set out for the world! True beauty.

  22. pyert says:

    YUMMM!!!

  23. Madyson says:

C Lyn: BMI is just a number. No inches involved.

My problem with the whole JS weight issue is the whole “5lbs” thing. They should either be honest about it or not mention it at all. That is not a 5lb. weight gain. That’s what I take issue with. Five pounds is negligible. It’s practically water weight gain.

    • wvgirl says:

But when you’re 5′ 3″ like Jessica is, ANY weight you put on is going to show. It may not only be 5 pounds, (who knows for sure?) but it sure isn’t 25. She’s petite, and if she put on 25 pounds, she’d look a lot heavier.

  24. emily says:

Is all America has to do, is debate over a singers weight?

If a doctor deems her unhealthy [in EITHER direction] then she should take the effort to become a healthier person. Apart from such an event I don’t give two shits about her and her weight. And neither should anyone else.

  25. Doker says:

Bigger is better!!! Marilyn Monroe FTW!!!

  26. Margaret says:

    I’d hit that.

    • inked_hippie says:

so would all of these guys calling her a “fatty”. They’re just pasty geeks sitting in Mommy’s basement, trolling around roflrazzi, calling hot celebrities fat so we’ll think they’re cool and have their choice of women…when, in reality, their choice lies between righty or lefty.

  27. Gordon Freeman says:

Punishable by being sent straight to my bed.

  28. StreetPreacher says:

5 lbs. my ass. I gain that much if I need to pee really badly. Jessica Simpson is still beautiful (though FAR FAR from a role model versus the “size 0 Hollywood culture,” jeez), but that’s at least fifteen to twenty pounds. And regardless of what anyone says, putting on that much weight that suddenly is just as unhealthy as how much she lost over a short period of time for Dukes of Hazzard.

  29. Leffe says:

    She looks hotter then ever!
People saying she’s fat is either delusional or don’t know how fat looks like.

  30. Janeyferr says:

    more cushion for the pushin’

  31. Casey says:

    Maybe she’s pregnant.

  32. MizuPanda says:

People, people, people. Calm down! Jessica Simpson is a smart lady who has carefully cultivated her image through the years. She needed to get back in the limelight. Easy way to do that is by making a comeback from something, because one of the things America loves best is a good comeback story. Instead of drugs or something equally dangerous, she went a different route. Gain a little weight (enough to make you probably a little high on the BMI scale, in this case, but more than enough for Harpywood to go apeshit about it). Lose the weight after a public meltdown. Release a new CD just as a tidal wave of good favor flows in from the public. Make more millions than the average person could spend in a year. I am taking bets on this, BTW. (I’m Irish, we got betting down to an art. We called Obama to win pretty damn early on, didn’t we?)

  33. scott says:

I dont see nothing wrong with that. In fact, I prefer my women to have a little meat on them.

As a matter of fact, I dont get how some women think that skinny is sexy. HOW?!? If your looking like an Ethiopian, that aint sexy.

    • ginganinja says:

Well, some chicks ARE naturally slender, as mentioned above. I can’t gain more than 2 pound s every two years and I haven’t broken 100 yet, but I look healthy. Other girls are naturally stocky or curvy. On many women (Courtney Love, Nicole Ritchie), the slender look doesn’t work as well- they aren’t supposed to be that body shape.

  34. Koki Kariya says:

Heh, if by 5 pounds you mean 20 then yes. Her arms and thighs have gotten waaaaay fatter than 5 pounds from her traditional figure.

  35. nerd says:

hmmmm woman with extra meat … i’d hit it

  36. Hombretudes says:

She’s becoming representative of the average American woman (physically), that’s incredible in its own right.

  37. Aislin says:

I remember when a figure like hers (and mine) was sexy, when curves were appreciated. Some girls are predisposed genetically to be stick figures…. however most stick figure girls you see aren’t naturally that way.

I for one am proud of my DD cups and chunky bum, I hope Jessica likes her body too :D

    • Paul says:

Curves are appreciated today. I don’t know who that person is in the photograph, so I couldn’t tell you how people would respond to her personal life, but if a woman who looked like that went out in public alone, she’d get a lot of attention from men. If she turned up as your blind date, you’d be mighty pleased. Of course she wouldn’t: a woman who looks like that does not need to go on blind dates. She has her choice of men already.

This story women like to tell each other about how men are only attracted to stick-thin women is in fact sheer nonsense. Now I know you didn’t say that, but we’ve gone through a couple cycles of it here in the last week or so. The fact is that men like women with curves. Men do not like fat women. Many women are perfectly happy with who they are. Many other women have convinced themselves that only stick-thin women attract men.

      • wvgirl says:

Here’s an idea: How about everyone has their OWN preference! Everyone is just generalizing what men like. “men like women with meat. men like healthy women. men do not like fat women.” How about everyone has their own type. I happen to like men who are lean and pretty slim. It’s just what I’m automatically attracted to. And guess what? I’M FAT! There’s no other way of putting it. I wear a size 18, and I’m 5′ 4″. (I’ve mentioned that on another thread.) And you know what? I have no problems in the love life department. I’ve been in a solid relationship for 3 1/2 years, and I couldn’t be happier. My boyfriend is lean, slim, smokin’ hot and loves my body.

        • Harlow says:

It blows my mind that someone as fat as you say you are can “have no problems in the love life department”. Being a size 18 and 5′4″ is nothing to brag about and is probably extremely detrimental to your health.

In short, please get off the planet Earth fatty, for the love of all things holy.

          • wvgirl says:

And you don’t know me, know about my love life, therefore you have no clue what you’re talking about. I never said it was anything to brag about. As a matter of fact, I do believe I said that I’m fat. I just said it depends on what you like. Some people like bigger girls, some like slim ones. Maybe closed minded people like you should get off the planet.

            • Harlow says:

And you don’t know me, know about my love life, therefore you have no clue what you’re talking about.

-you said yourself what you weigh, and that you have a healthy love life. If this is true, I am shocked (and personally disgusted that anyone who is “smokin’ hot” would sleep with you without being drunk) and I don’t need to know you personally to judge your weight because like we’ve both said, you made it public. If I knew you personally, I would probably notice how fat you are even more, thus a harsher judgement. Yes, you’re fat. Congrats. You’re going to die earlier than I am, and that’s ok. It’s natural selection, fat asses like you will eventually fade away and people who have a normal height to weight ratio will be all that’s left. I’m not closed minded, I just think it’s digusting that people like you are FAT AND PROUD. Being overweight is nothing to be proud of, it’s like saying, I HAVE CANCER AND I AM PROUD.

I’m just glad that you’re going to either eventually eat yourself to death, or the calories will finally take care of you.

              • wvgirl says:

Since we like typing in all caps, DID I SAY I WAS FAT AND PROUD? I’m just not ashamed, and before you say I should be, no. I’m a person just like you, I have a right to live my life any way I want to, and if you don’t like my size, or how I feel about it, then mind your own business. I didn’t put it on here to be told by the likes of you that I’m not worthy of living. I’m sure you’re absolutely perfect in every way. It still doesn’t give you the right to actually tell me you want me to die. Oh, sorry, you’re glad I’m going to die. Whatever. Maybe I’ll die fat, maybe I won’t, either way, I’ll be able to say I don’t have any regrets. And if you have a problem with it, if it disgusts you, so be it. We’ll probably never cross paths in our lifetime, and last I checked, I didn’t need your approval for anything. We’re done now.

          • phyre says:

            You, sir, are an asshole.

  38. Twitt says:

The angle is extremely unflattering, and the outfit doesn’t do much for her shape either. But I don’t think she’s fat by any means, she looks great. Sometimes pictures just don’t come out making the person look good. This is one of those times.

    • The Crapture says:

I dunno…that angle definitely catches my attention…but that just might be attributable to my own overly libidinous imagination

  39. AbbeyRoad says:

I like how everyone is so adamant about their opinion of her (whether she’s “Fat” or “healthy” or whatever) when this is all based off a PICTURE!!!!! I’ve always heard anyone who’s really run into a celebrity say they were so much thinner than they thought.

  40. lala says:

hmm, i’m not gay, but i would totally go for that… she’s workin those high waisted jeans!

  41. Simon Nolan says:

As a gay male, I must say that I think she looks great, um, I mean, FABULOUS!

Seriously, I really wish that taste would go back to the days when voluptuous was considered attractive. Jane Russell and full-figured gals rule! Unfortunately, it seems that it’s the stupid designers who keep pushing out fashion for sticks, not real women. Just check the runways of Europe and New York. Ugh.

  42. Vi says:

Wow, seriously.. all you “Proud to be thin!” girls need to stfu and realize what most people here are actually saying. (and, for the record, I am 5′4″ and 110lbs and pretty much cant go a day without being called “scrawny”)- No one is making fun of you. No one is saying that being curvy is the ONLY way to “be a woman.” All thats being said is that being thin is not the only way a woman is going to look good. Having a little meat on your bones can be just as hot. And please listen to the people who are saying theres a difference between being too anorexic thin for your shape and looking like a bag of forks (LOVE that analogy, lol!) and being naturally thin. Just like there is a difference between a bigger-boned woman having naturally bigger curves, and someone that is overweight to the point their health is bad because of it. I wouldnt look at Jessica right now and say she looks unhealthy. I call this curvy and voluptuous. Not unhealthy.

  43. eddie says:

She’s not attractive anymore. If she doesn’t want people to criticize her weight, she shouldn’t have sold herself as a sex symbol all these years. This is lame.

  44. ghostofgenerayburn says:

FWIW, I think she looks fine as well and wasn’t mocking any weight gain, I was mocking the Hollywood and media attitude toward it. I agree that the outfit is atrocious, though. Mom jeans flatter no one.

  45. K80 says:

A beautiful woman, who has a beautiful figure, who performs for a living, and is under the scrutiny of …well everyone. “They” attacked her becuase there was nothing going on with her since they had the gall to complain about her music video ‘come on over’ that clearly she didnt write the song to choreograph the scenes, so they had to find SOMETHING to pick on her about… Or else it wouldnt be hollywood. She is beautiful. I wish I could look that great!

  46. Airigh says:

It’s that damned outfit! I don’t think it’d look good on anyone! She’s still hot! In fact I think MOST celebrities should gain 30 pounds or so! It’s FINE people.

  47. mish says:

I just gotta say, I love how most people are acting like they are doctors and how they KNOW things as 100% fact about Jessica or weight gain or women’s bodies. Unless someone is a legitimate doctor, I think we all just need to shut up. This is someone’s body, they are a person. If she wants to be that weight, look that weight, and be able to do what she loves (sing, that is) and still eat how she wants, then good for her. Don’t go around throwing facts and having arguments about weight, because I would bet that most of the people commenting are not doctors or nutritionists in any way. And basing your opinions off your own body weight or basing what you think is true off your body weight or just what you have seen around you, does NOT make it true or fact.

  48. The Crapture says:

i’ve been with all sorts of women with a fair variety of body shapes and while i do tend to prefer slim petites, there is nothing wrong with Ms. Simpson in this picture. More specifically, the last time i saw a similarly built woman striking that particular pose, we both got stuck with a significant bill for the hotel room furniture we wrecked and banned by the hotel on account of the neighboring guests we managed to annoy with the ensuing racket we made….in short…”Daaaaaaamn!”

    • phyre says:

HA, that made me LOL IRL.

I agree – Jessica is hot as hell now that she’s finally got some meat on her bones. I can’t stand her music and she doesn’t seem very bright, but physically, she’s damn near perfect for my taste.

Since everyone seems to be taking a freaking survey, I’m a bisexual female, 5′9″, 140 lbs, 34C.

  49. Joe says:

That is a good 5 lbs. I don’t see the problem

    Joe,
    MyFlorenceItalyVacation.com

  50. John says:

That’s more than 5 extra pounds!

  51. Pugiron says:

They say the Camera adds 10 pounds. There are just six cameras on her is the problem.

When you have no talent but get famous for being hot, when you stop being hot you have nothing left.

  52. Forge says:

I would plow her like sixty acres of Georgia loam.

That said, that’s a dumbfoundingly stupid choice of outfit.

  53. Piotr says:

She looks terrific! Beauty right there.

  54. Karen says:

that’s not five extra pounds, that’s more like 25 extra. And as bad as she looks there, you know she looks even worse without all the packaging holding her in. Her stomach undoubtedly sags, thighs are full of nasty cellulite… Yet there are so many people all over the place claiming that she’s not fat – because they’re fat, too, and they’re trying to convince the rest of us that they’re normal, and that there’s something wrong with the rest of us for being healthy and toned. Personally, I’m tired of it. She’s not curvy, she’s freakin’ fat. Deal with it.

    • Kat says:

I agree with this completely. The only people crying about SHE’S NOT FAT!!!11!!!1!! are the fatties who worship her. Get over it everyone, she’s a fat country singer, can’t we just let her relevancy fade away?

      • sylvia says:

i’m not fat, i’m actually very thin.
i don’t worship Jessica Simpson. i don’t listen to any of her music, and i’ve maybe watched one movie she’s in.
yet, i’m one of those people who says “SHE’S NOT FAT!!” because SHE’S NOT FAT!!
and anyone who thinks she’s fat, seriously has issues.

  55. lucie says:

I don’t dislike and harshly judge her because she gained weight. I dislike and harshly judge her because she sucks :)

  56. Katy says:

i seriously dont get why people are saying shes fat O.o maybe its just because i live in scotland, but she looks pretty much average weight here. personally i think she looks better for having curves.

people seem to forget that one of the biggest sex symbols was Marilyn Monroe….she was lovely and curvy. this recent trend for stick figures causes women to put themselves at serious health risks by crash diets, anorexia and bulemia. why not just let people be a normal weight….some people are born naturally thin and stay that way but they are from what i remember about 5% of the population. why should people have to force their bodies to be something they are not by unhealthy means. as long as people are fit and healthy and happy in themselves who cares. There are also reasons outside of a persons control for weight gain and stuff, i know a woman who went from 9 and a half stone to 22 stone in a matter of weeks after she got a brain tumour because it screwed with her brain signals. unless you know someones full medical history then you cant judge them.

i know a lot of men who love curvy women, including my fiance, who is a stick. people come in all shapes and sizes, if we all looked the same it would be boring as hell. picking at someone about gaining a couple of pounds is just ridiculously shallow, and as for her not being a sex symbol anymore i know a lot of men who would happily do her.

i heard a guy in the pub talking about women….i think he put it right when he said he liked women to look like women and be an hourglass shape…if he wanted to date someone who had the figure of a man then whats the point in dating a woman

  57. momo says:

jessica simpson hate makes me laugh so hard. she’s a professional, has made an awful lot of money, and isn’t a postergirl for the incredibly fashionable heroin-addict look that’s going around these days. people who judge her personality based on nick & jess are pure and simple victims of the media. thinking she was morbidly stupid was what they WANTED you to think, it’s a selling point, and she was slightly obscure before she was a part of that “reality” show, but look at her now. everyone knows who she is.

her little sister deserves more hate to be honest. lose weight, get a nose job, marry an equally intolerable pop star, and have a baby with a stupid name. that doesn’t scream success to me.
