Easily.
Oh Hugh Jackman you are the LOL of my life.
“Watch it, Bub !”
Wow, he looks as flexible as those kids! Chalk on up for we old folks!
*one*
he did start in musical theater
I have no problem with Wolverine singing a good show tune!
Actually, Hugh Jackman has been on Broadway before. That might explain his flexibility, dancing and singing skills, and other such nonsense that we witnessed at the Oscars. =)
Indeed, Jackman won the Olivier award (Britain’s Tony) well before X-MEN for his performance as Curly in OKLAHOMA! in the West End. And he won the Tony for Best Actor In A Musical for playing Peter Allen in THE BOY FROM OZ.
It’s called range, people. Deal with it.
Range, indeed. =)
Gotta love a multi-talented man. ^n_n^
Three cheers for the original….JERRY ORBACH!!
RIP Jerry Orbach. . . *sniff*
I miss Jerry… *sniffs and mourns*
He’s also won an Emmy for hosting the Tony’s.
Useless fact, he actually scored the role of Wolverine based on his performance in the Lipman production of ‘OKLAHOMA!’ (Interview with Michael Parkinson, just after the release of the first X-Men film) AND the Frankenstein Creature in Van Helsing was played by Shuler Hensley who was in the same production with Jackman in the West End, playing Jud Fry… Seems there was a reasonable amount of talent in that show…
If you haven’t seen the DVD of OKLAHOMA that Uncle Fester is talking about, and you’re a fan of musicals, do see it. Maybe it’s in a library somewhere, and I think you can still buy it online. There’s quite a lot of talent in that production and Trevor Nunn somehow managed to give it some depth as well. Wish I’d managed to see it live.
Hugh Jackman was also, very early on in his career, ‘Gaston’ in one of Australia’s productions of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, for which he actually learned to sing. It was the first time he’d sung in front of a live audience, but clearly it wasn’t the last!
If I’d known Hugh was going to be kicking his legs in the air I might have bothered to turn the Oscars on this year. Ah well, it’s all probably on YouTube.
Nonsense????? it was totally awesome!!!!
wtf is this? 2008 election the musical?
the oscars. he hosted. i take it you didn’t watch, huh?
Oh, I don’t think you have to worry about anyone over the age of 12 taking the new Wolverine movie seriously.
Why can’t people figure out the difference b/w “suppose” and “supposed”?
Why do I sound like such a grammar nazi nerd?
Probably ’cause you’re in good company. ^n_n^
Because you are! Why does it matter if they typed it wrong? This isn’t English class. As long as you understood what message they were trying to convey, then they succeeded.
So if your name is Terry and I consistently refer to you as Chris, it’s totally fine, right? Because you can tell I’m talking to YOU, so my message still gets across. …Srsly, “suppose” and “supposed” are *two different words*. To you, maybe they’re interchangeable; to a grammar nerd, the two words sound completely different and when someone uses the wrong one it gives us a stabbing eye pain.
Ok, I’m a grammar nerd as well, and I understand that seeing words that are presented as one thing and are spelled in a different way is really frustrating, but RMT is right: This isn’t an English site (Heck, the first word of the site isn’t even a word at all! Lol?) . It’s just a place to laugh at celebs and the caption people put for them. I didn’t even noticed until I scrolled down and read the comment that it was wrong. So leave this guy alone, people, and stop picking at every little caption that does have a “-ed” at the end of a verb or whatever. It kinda kills the fun…
Seriously? Ok, you’re making a WAY bigger deal out of my “correction” than I did about the mistake in the first place. I was doing it in a light-hearted, making-fun-of-myself kind of way. I like to make fun of myself as I make fun of other people who mess up their grammar as they make fun of celebrities. Did I kill your fun? I’m sorry. I’m enjoying myself pretty well at the moment, actually.
Really? I made a big deal? Because I totally started this thread…right.
You know, this takes it all to a whole new level! Not only am I making fun of Hugh Jackman, someone with bad grammar, and myself, but now I can also make fun of you! Yay! I like this game!
Only not. Oops. Guess you lost your own game.
WTF YOUR STOOPED OFF CAUSE DIS IZ DA ENGLESH KLAS!
Wouldn’t you love to hear people speak the grammar-mangling foul-ups they commit online?
On second thought, maybe not…your ears might start to bleed.
It looks sloppy.
And quite frankly, demeans the whole point of their message in the first place..
…yo momma!
He was hilarious on Oscars night, and a pretty damned good singer too. I loved the montage of all the movies up for the awards!!
I loved how he ended that montage by singing “I’m Wolveriiiiiiiine!” Love ya, Hugh.
Good to know!
And thousands of sincere and serious tall people I met on ___Tallloving C om___ are the most amazing people I ever met! they care nothing but real love and chemistry! that’s what we are looking for in today’s world!
Spam comment is spam.
Complete side bar…
Is the Axe Snaga?
I had no idea he was such a good singer!
By realizing that he has more talent than his brooding stereotypical anti hero role in X-Men. Don’t get me wrong, I love X-Men (wish Gambit could have been in there somewhere), but I’ve never had a taste for Wolverine.
Gambit will be in Wolverine.
Seriously? Hooray!
Seriously. Go check out some of the trailers on YouTube. The only things missing are the contacts that would make the whites of his eyes look black. ^n_n^
How am I supposed to take this caption seriously without a question mark at the end?
YAY! Grammar Nazis Unite! Let’s annoy all the others who don’t care about grammar!
Looks like he’s cupping a fart lol
I’m wondering if he and James Marsden sang duets on the X-Men set. And if someone caught it on film and would be willing to share.
…that would be hot.
I don’t watch the emmy or grammy or ‘whatever it is he hosted’ shows but I saw the Barbara Walters interview and I couldn’t help but notice that he has such a beautiful smile. Nice teeth too. Nothing like a man with nice teeth and a smile to match. YUM!!!!
Is he related to Jeremy Jackman who used to be one of the Kings Singers? Musical talent sometimes runs in families. (Jeremy’s British, and Hugh is Australian, so they aren’t brothers, but they could be cousins, although they don’t look much alike; Jackman isn’t that common a name.)
Didn’t any of you see him in the film Australia with Nicole Kidman? he was excelent, I didn’t want to see film, I thought would be too ‘girlie’, glad I was ‘persuaded’ to go!
Yea, I’m pretty sure he just got hotter
Hugh Jackman kicks all manner of ass. That man is talented AND delicious!
you should have seen him with the rockeets! (sp)
