Jeff Dun-HAM! I love this guy!
    “Shut up! I KEEL YOO!”

  3. Green Is Good says:

    Ham, Ham, Ham!

  4. Outback Jon says:

Should I point out that “schizophrenia” and “multiple personality disorder” are not the same thing?

Nah. I’ll let someone else do it.

    • cheese says:

      Thank you.

It’s actually called ‘dissociative identity disorder’ (DID) now though, instead of MPD.

    • Sezzy E says:

Nah don’t do it…I’m gonna let someone else point it out too

    • Cephalopod says:

I was totally going to make a comment like this.

Being a psych major, the way that the population uses the two interchangeably irritates me.

      • charro says:

My mom (who happens to be schizophrenic) explained it to me once that since schizo means “split” people think it = “Split personality” (MPD or DID however it’s called now); except that it means “Split from reality”. The schizophrenic has had a “break” or a “split” from reality and it now psychotic.
Oh, and I also loooooove how people have no idea what “psychotic” is. They think it’s the same as “psychopath” (also and outdated term) and even THEN they still have no idea what a PSYCHOPATH is!!!! A people will never cease to marvel me with their inherent stupidity.

        • charro says:

          *”Ah people”, not “A people”.

        • Cephalopod says:

I agree, but I’m not so sure if it’s stupidity so much as ignorance. They just don’t know the difference, and so the generalizations continue. Truth be told, I didn’t even know what the differences were until I took my first Abnormal Psych class.

          • charro says:

All the more reason there should be psychology taught mandatory in high school.

            • charro says:

Besides, you really shouldn’t be using a word unless you know its meaning.
It’s just plain embarrassing for everyone involved.
Like, “Look and the gonads on that guy!” Either you’re looking at porn or have no idea what gonads are. How embarrassing.

        • vykky says:

i was going to say something (i have schizoaffective disorder) but you said it for me. i’m so glad there are people like you out there.

      • Michele says:

Nothing irritates me more than when people confuse the two. And as the daughter of a schizophrenic, I am offended by “jokes” about anyone’s mental illness, especially when they are blatantly incorrect

        • charro says:

I totally read that wrong, and thought you said “correct”. I was going to be very sad.

        • vykky says:

so am i. people have no clue, and the stigma is horrible. i can’t tell you how many people i’ve met who just don’t get it. since i was diagnosed in 98 i’ve encountered some people with some pretty wild ideas.. i.e. “if i got off my meds i’d have a closer walk with God” telling someone with an MI to get off their meds is one of the worst things anyone could do.
i’d like to talk more with you, and i hope your mom is doing okay.

      • Kei says:

Being a sufferer of one it more than irritates me. As does how often you get called humourless and oversensitive when you point it out.

    • Tom says:

Yeah, that was the first thing I thought when I saw this… sorta took away from the joke for me.

      • Name says:

Samesies! Everyone throws around the term schizophrenia like they know what they’re talking about, it annoys me. Schizophrenia is more of an umbrella term for a multitude of symptoms which can be either ‘positive’ (meaning something is added to the personality eg hallucination, delusions) or ‘negative’ (meaning something is lost, eg apathy, catatonia).
What I don’t get is how people know the term Schizophrenia, which is such a complex illness, and they know of an illness where people have multiple personalities, and somehow lump the name with the symptoms!
It’s like how some people call Mt Fuji ‘Fuji yama’ instead of ‘Fuji-san’, which begs the question of where did they randomly learn the Japanese word for mountain, when nobody in Japan would ever refer to Fuju-san as such? If they learned that random word then surely they’d learn how it’s used.
Yeah that was a bad example.

Also I don’t find this guy funny.

OK, bring on the predictable replies.

  5. RiderLeangle says:

One of the funniest people around.

  6. AK™ says:

am i pissing you off-fa fa?

    love that guy.

  7. James76 says:

Schizophrenia has nothing at all in common with MPD. I wonder if there will be a time in this country when people realize that in addition to race and gander, it is also uncool and damaging to make fun of people with a mental illness. I know I know, it was a joke it wasn’t meant to hurt blah blah blah. BS. I work with the mentally ill and see first hand what rampant ridicule in the general population does to them. imagine being mde fun of on TV, radio, internet, in person and in every other way you can think of EVERYDAY of your life. Yeah bet these “small jokes” wouldn’t seem so little anymore…

    • AnnaBanana says:

Race and gander? Do you have something against geese?

    • Anonymouse says:

Thank you for saying this….Epic Win!

    • Lol says:

You sound like you’re talking to yourself… schizo…

    • Shalindria says:

FYI, most people with mental illness DO have a sense of humor.

      • Kei says:

Yes, we do, but it’s still really annoying. We can laugh at OURSELVES, it doesn’t mean we like people making blatantly ignorant comments and then defending themselves with “but it’s just a JOKE!” It would be more funny if it was correct.

        • Lunar-Xero says:

I hope all you people complaining about jokes and mental illness think the same thing when comedians make jokes about gays, race (which btw are even funny to the people they are aimed at most of the time) and religion. Most generalisations about these groups are incorrect but you don’t see them complaining. I do get that schizophrenia is isn’t the same as whatever its called now. So don’t start going off at me about that.

  8. teeeeeeerreh says:

I am so sick of this kind of joke. Like others have said it’s NOT DISSOCIATVE DISORDER. I don’t even mind jokes picking on mental disorders, it’s good to stay light hearted about it and have a good sense of humor. But being a ignorant and making fun of one disorder when you’re getting them confused is just annoying.

  9. Kayla says:

I like how a Tom Cruise advertisement shows up next to a pic about mental illness.

    And, yes, MPD =/= schizophrenia.

  10. cheese says:

For the record, it’s no longer called multiple personality disorder, but rather dissociative identity disorder.

  11. Tyler Durden says:

With that in mind, Peanut is pure unadulterated id, and therefore made of awesome.

  12. Kendra says:

WOOT!!! Jeff-fa-fa Dun-HAM dot com!!! lol

  13. DangerFart says:

This guy is incredibly un-funny. He is anti-funny. His comedy is an assault on what we now know as funny.

    • teeeeeeerreh says:

      I agree. I don’t know how he’s so popular.

      • Sina says:

Dunham is great…apparently all these fill-in-the-blank disorder…ah…lets call them “Disorderly” people since they are going to be pedantic about terms….All these disorderly people lose their sense of humor in therapy. Laughing at your self is healthy folks. I love a good joke about groups I fit into. And this man tells some gooooood jokes. The first time I saw him was in person and he had me in TEARS!

    • p-nut freak says:

dangerfart you are a jerk wad!

  14. Czernobog says:

    The internet is serious business.

  15. Flavie says:

    Uh… I don’t know who is the ugliest. O_o

  16. kr0w says:

MPD, DID, schizophrenia, hearing voices, bulemia, anorexia….and every other mental disorder or behavioral disorder are all symptoms of the same disease. Idiots that want to have an excuse to do what they do.

They can change the names and classify them all they want, they’re still whackjobs.

    • keshet says:

And you are ignorant and an ass hat.

    • paulWTAMU says:

Wow. So I hear auditory hallucinations because I want an excuse to…do what exactly, try and ignore them and get on with life? Cause that’s most of what coping with mental illness really is.
      Jackass.

    • teeeeeeerreh says:

How very enlightened. They are not all the same disease. Mentally ill people are not idiots, they have a serious disorder.

    • fish eye no miko says:

The problem wit this comment is that you’re immediately assuming that people who claim to have these disorders do bad things… there are plenty of people who have mental problems who don’t do anything bad (or at least nothing worse then some of the stuff “normal” people do). So, what exactly are they looking for an excuse for? Getting a job? Having kids? Living their lives?

  17. MavFan says:

I must say, it is completely surreal to see someone you knew in school being made into a Lol Celeb.

  18. RoyBatty says:

Remember back when to be a ventriloquist the rule was your lips weren’t supposed to move…?

    Ah, those were the days.

  19. dissodatore says:

any one who can turn playing with dolls and talking to yourself in public into money is a winner in my book, so deal.

is supposed to be a joke in and of itself, sheesh.

just don’t give Peanut nyquil and red bull . . . . ever

    *giggle*

  20. Hell Hath No Fury says:

Those dolls are hideous and they creep me out. Any guy that spends so much time with his hands up a doll’s ass talking to himself needs serious help.

  21. namee says:

Schizophrenia does NOT mean a split personality. This is really insulting and hurtful to people with schizophrenia, not to mention that it perpetuates the split-personality stereotype.

  22. Naruloth says:

Sheensh…it’s supposed to be a harmless joke. Nothing more. And 99% of us aren’t Psych majors (or have only taken highschool psych, in which doesn’t always keep up-to-date. some people haven’t even TAKEN psych, like me ), and did not know that things change in the Psych community.

And his lips doesn’t move. He might slip up a bit…but we’re HUMAN, meaning we all make mistakes…He’s funny, though. Probably one of the best comedians, next to Carlos Mencia, and some of Dane Cooks older material.

    • Rattus says:

A world in which Dunham, Mencia and Dane are the best comedians is a world that I would commit hara kari rather than live in.

    • ireentje-muse says:

Schyzophrenia has NEVER been split personality so nothing has changed on that part. And I am not a psych major and my school did not even provide anything that had anything to do with psych and I knew that. Ignorance is not an excuse buddy.

    • Kei says:

High school psych isn’t even offered as an option in my country but most people are still aware that schizophrenia has never, ever meant split personalities.

    • Jess says:

what are you talking about “And 99% of us aren’t Psych majors (or have only taken highschool psych, in which doesn’t always keep up-to-date. some people haven’t even TAKEN psych, like me ), and did not know that things change in the Psych community.”??? Dumb ass. It never changed, schizophrenia has always been the same disorder. And just another thing, ignorance (which means lack of proper information in case you did not know) is no excuse for misusing terms.

  23. Shalindria says:

Nobody has stopped to think that maybe the creator of this LOL actually knows what Schizophrenia is and meant that Jeff Dunham uses his ‘dummies’ to give voice to his voices. Maybe he hears Peanut and Walter in his head, and chooses to let everyone else share in the joke.

  24. ICDK says:

We can all be thankful he’s not exposing his steek in this picture.

  25. Kathe says:

…This has nothing to do with schizophrenia.

  26. heather says:

this caption makes no sense. glad everyone already posted the whole schizophrenia not being the same thing as DID stuff. lol fail.

  27. minerva146 says:

Meh, he’s sort of amusing, but Terry Fator is way more talented and funnier.

  28. Kristina says:

Ug! It’s multiple personality disorder, not schizophrenia! They’re nothing alike except they both can been called mental disorders. This is a real fail. Post on fail blog instead.

  29. Hopless Romance says:

WIN! Jeff Dunham is one of my favorite comedians.
    “I am Jose Jalepenio… on a STEEK!”

  30. Yukari says:

lol @ everyone joining the hate train. I like Dunham; he’s sometimes funnier than others, but overall I think he’s a talented comedian, ventriloquist and voice actor who has had me rofl-ing several times :D

  31. Koki Kariya says:

Jeff Dunham is boring. His comedy is barely funny with the puppets and can’t survive without them.

  32. JJ says:

Dunham is not even remotely funny.

  33. !!! says:

    Jeff Dunham isn’t funny.

  34. Nikii says:

Schizo and MPD are two different things. Get it right

    “The internetz is serius biznes.”

  35. DKN says:

Comments on teh internets actually helping to banish the stigma of Mental Illness – EPIC WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Y’all are SMART. Thank Dog.

  36. lol? says:

Jeff Dunham is a very talented comedian. I don’t know very much about the mental illness stuff, but I think he is just trying to make people’s day brighter with some laughter. Laughter is the best medicine in some cases. Although i agree with some of you, i don’t much like this caption either.

  37. kronosdragon says:

Jeff Dunham is an epic win!

  38. MissMaybe says:

He’s funny, but he’s not at the same time.
    Anyone agree with me?

  39. Jess says:

Why is it that most people think schizophrenia is a split personality disorder?? Hello, google it, cause it’s not.

  40. UHM,SWEENEYTODD?! says:

    JEFF DUNHAM FTMFW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  41. captainroyy says:

Jeff dunham KICKS ASS. PEANUTS ASS.

  42. Pootah says:

Is it my imagination, or does jeff look like a cross between keifer sutherland and gary busey?

  43. sarahhiska says:

    SILENCE……….WAIT FOR IT…………. I KEEL YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
