REAL MUSIC
Made from pain, not corporate money
(Ray Charles)
Picture by: dunno source. Caption by: vdantev via Poster Builder
reminds me a little bit of the ending of raiders of the lost ark
Prob the greatest. Joe Cocker, Billy Joel, they all want(ed) to be him. I want to be him. Sometimes I pretend I’m Ray Charles when I wear sunglasses and am typing at my computer keyboard and listening to the genius at work.
Ray Charles and Joe Cocker didn’t make music “from pain.” They made it from copious amounts of drugs like heroin and LSD, which they bought with *gasp* corporate money!!!
Maybe so, but 99% of heroin addicts and LSD users aren’t talented enough to make brilliant music.
*invisible piano*
I’m gone, don’t search for me….
did you leave on an invisible bike? are you…a lolcat?!
That looks like me after I saw that splay-legged Madonna pic for the first time.
But it’s not as if Ray Charles didn’t take “corporate money”.
True but he wasn’t picked for his looks and branded “The next pop sensation!” Only to fade after a few years.
Yes, yes we get it. You listen to music too cool for us to contemplate and bitch about the superiority of albums to mp3s. We are not worthy of your awesomeness and can only cheer you on in the fight for the proletariat or the working man or Joe the F’ing plumber or whatever.
Get off of your throne and put down the scepter you overcompensate with.
Ooh, somebody didn’t like the picture! And we can’t have THAT! Not on the INTERNET! Next time we’ll make a happy, family-friendly and *gasp* FUNNY pic!
/sarcasm
Gosh, thanks for including the sarcasm tag, Sir Baggs! And thanks for responding with some totally irrelevant statement, which you basically replicated below! Gee willikers, golly goo, and more ridiculous exclamations! Etcetera, etcetera.
go listen to the lil wayne and miley cyrus
No thank you. My quota for obnoxious musicians was filled long, long ago in the time of Sean Paul.
Oh, did I hurt your widdle feewings?
Georgia is on my mind.
I miss home
this caption is the god’s honest truth, there will never be another Ray Charles , just as there will never be another Johnny Cash
Okay we get it. You all look down on people that dare like anything different from you, and heaven forbid MAINSTREAM! It wasn’t funny the first time and it sure as hell isn’t now.
OK, we get it. You don’t like the picture. Why do yo u feel the need to bash a picture others may find funny? Does it make you feel more like a man (or woman)? Tell me WHERE in this picture you see this guy looking down on others for listening to the crap we call mainstream.
Nobody complained about the picture. It’s about the caption.
The caption basically says that it’s not real music.
Caption…picture…to me they’re interchangable.
its not that it disagrees with anyones views
its that is not funny so it was chosen specifically to support one viewpoint
if anyone finds this humorous….
may god have mercy on your soul
only children believe everything has to be funny.
Dude, the website is called rolfrazzi! ROFL! It’s a humor site!
(And whose to say we aren’t children and what’s wrong with that?)
Perhaps you need to pick up a dictionary. Pictures and captions are not interchangeable. The fact that you’re too lazy to use the correct word for your intention is a sad commentary on how badly the ignorant need to be corrected.
Sir Baggs, why do you feel the need to repeat almost exactly what you said above? And I think it’s pretty clear that the term “corporate money” is being used to mock music that is popular now. Disliking music is okay, but I have a problem with people being snobby and arrogant about it. This caption isn’t meant to be funny but is being used as a vehicle to soothe the ego of the captioner.
‘ soothe the the ego of the captioner. ‘
Not everything is about your interpretation of the creator, its the creation.
When you denounced taking “corporate” money, I assumed you were insulting major record companies. How is that not snobby?
wow, it’s a good thing reality isn’t subject to public opinion.
Great recap! Bravo.
music is also made from love. and some people love corporate money. so what’s the problem!?
Deathbysnoosnoo–100% win, not machine-washable.
ya
the music ones are getting kinda old
this ones not even funny just a bland statement
Not everything has to be funny except perhaps your failed attempts to grasp musical depth.
ok
the site is ROFL i repeat ROFLrazi
not mehrazi not w/erazi
roflfazi
it implys da funniz
and anyone who thinks all music since ray charles is just based on cash drugs and women lacks the ability to grasp musical depth
Let’s just simplify this, so all the culture snobs can finally be happy:
“If anyone’s heard of you, you sold out.”
There. Finished.
Oh, another brat with a case of butt-hurt. Someone make him a latte.
There’s a delightful bit of irony in how dante’s critics make jokes while dante acts completely childish and has a hissy fit when someone criticizes his caption, screaming that they are infantile and immature. Then he calls the critics babies.
What’s with all these “you’re-a-snob-cos-you-don’t-like-the-mainstream” posts? The image has not a single reference to any “mainstream”, it merely states that good music is written as an expression of emotion, not as a corporate product. Whatever you think of that, this inverse snobbery doesn’t make any of you look anything more than reactionary children. There’s no greater pretension that that of being unpretentious…
That said, there ARE emotions other than pain. Joy, love, sorrow, vikings, satanism, people being ripped open by zombies… All very personal.
Isn’t Ray Charles worth, like, 50 billion dollars or something?
I mean, have you seen the man’s mansion?
No?Know what? Neither has he!
HA HA HA HA HA!
Oh, yeah… I went there.
You, sir, for the win.
And I was worried that nothing funny would be made from this one.
Whatever. That’s a Hannah Montana comeback.
