the need of the many……
K
Reference to how the guys in the red suits always die in star trek episodes.
you killed it.
He’s dead, Jim!
Him too!
Dammit jim i am doctor not a scriptwriter
Miri
That’s exactly what I thought when I saw the background, JayPea!
I still can’t hear “A-Tisket A-Tasket” without thinking of that episode.
Darn gr’ups ruining all the fun.
for the record:
episode: Miri (1×11)
redshirts in the picture: Galloway (David L. Ross, r.) & Fields (John Arndt, l.)
their fate: both survided!!
So, maybe you have to watch the episode to know…
sorry, I confused the sides, Galloway is the one on the left, Fields the one on the right.
yeh but ……………..
Yeh but……They both survived!!!!?!?!?!
Yeah, but here’s the funny part: Galloway would get killed somewhere in the third season–and reappear a few episodes later, alive and well.
That happened to Leslie, too, actually.
only if they had speech roles xD.
And last names.
Galaxy quest FTW
In the new Star Trek movie, when they went diving to break the drill and the guy put on the red suit, I went OH CRAP YOU SO DEAD!! and I was right.
It’s funny too, because red’s one of my favorite colors to wear. I guess not in the Star Trek universe.
In So. Cali. if you wear red, you’re dead. So….socal crips=Star Trek fans?! I KNEW IT!!!! Conspiracy!!!! They all get together at night and watch Star Trek when they’re not listening to Tupac and Biggie!
Oh, thanks…I’m probably going to move to Cali later.
Bring money.
LOL, thanks for that too!
Well Black’s my favourite colour to wear so perhaps I’m half Klingon – Qapla’
Really? Maybe because I don’t go to south central LA often, but I haven’t encountered red issues.
Plus nobody I know got killed in South Central L.A.
Today was a good day.
Not necessarily; Scottie normally wore red.
and Sulu was wearing a very fahionable white…
But then Spock dies at the end of “Wrath of Khan.”
However, he does come back in “Star Trek III The Search for Spock.”
Exactly like Captain Jack Sparrow comes back in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Man, I can’t believe how many parallels I can make b/t different movies. It just shows how unoriginal some movies are these days. At least their still fun to watch.
Thier still fun to watch, what does it do?
What do you mean ‘what does it do’?
That totally reminded me of the time in high school me and a friend were on acid and my dad came home early and showed me his new Far Side calendar and I responded, “Cool, does it work?”
O.o
If you pay attention, you’ll notice that this episode, “Miri” (and “the City on the Edge of Forever” as well) were filmed on the MAYBERRY set… That building with the columns was the entrance to Sheriff Andy Taylor’s office & jail….
In fact, in “City”, you see Shatner & Joan Collins walk by Floyd’s Barber Shop – WITH the “Andy Griffith Show” window still in place, proclaiming it as Floyd’s.
There’s a fun fact you can ride home on! Awesome.
Uh actually, I think these guys survive in this episode. There’s actually an 80% rise in redshirt survival when Kirk meets an alien woman. As proof, check this out (this is my first time doing this, so you’ll have to see if it works):
Whew, it worked! Awesome!
Fascinating video…
*raises eyebrows sarcastically*
Yeah, sometimes I wonder why this guy actually decided to do this…must’ve had A LOT of time on his hands. Ah well, it’s for the benefit of us. I find it pretty funny that he managed to calculate all that.
This doode has totally wated a large part of his life
wait! what coulor were the pther 2%?
Enough with the Star Trek, please. It’s really not funny anymore and I believe Roflrazzi needs a new approval system.
You’re obviously not a Trekkie. The difference between Trekkies and non-Trekkies is when they make fun of Star Trek, it’s a lot funnier to be a Trekkie.
Spock wore too-small shirts before too small shirts were cool….because he’s awesome.
Whoops! Left the r out of shirt. *blushes*
um, where?
After a quick scroll, neither of you that I could see, anywhere in this pic.
So true!
unless your name is Montgomery Scott red = dead on classic star trek
well depends only if they spoke. you saw them all the time, but when they said something they were as good as dead.
very true
this is the most accurate caption ever love ya spock
it is the most inaccurate caption ever cause they both survived and you have to watch the episode to know this.
FAIL!
I thought yellow shirts died just as often as red shirts… but it seems to be more fun to giggle about red shirts dieing.
yellow shirts died in tng
Ironically, they both survived.
But they will die in the next episode, no worries.
This episode was shot on the old set of the Andy Griffith Show.
they nearly died by plague.
MY MOM TOLD ME ABOUT THIS. The guy in the red suit ALWAYS dies! AHH
if it means anything Galloway died and came back to life due to a writeing error, he was killed in one Ep and was written in to later in the series with no explanation given
http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Galloway
Teh other feilds would survive through all his apperences on the show.
and yes im looking for a hobbie
