Just think, your parents thought the Fonz was a BAD role model.
(Henry Winkler)

Ayyyyyyyy.
The Fonz was great until the later seasons when he was magical for some reason… Also shark jumping.
I certainly don’t want my kids jumping over no sharks!
So… You only want your kids jumping over sharks?
Double negative fail
It’s idiomatic, yo.
Unless you’re Shakespeare.
Long live the Fonz:D
He also now tours around the country talking to kids with learning disabilities about his experiences having one. He’s very inspirational, and a really nice guy.
He also writes a popular series of kids books called Hank Zipzer.
No way, i used to love those books! I never really paid attention to who wrote them.
YOU MISSPELLED MARRIAGES????? AAAAAAAAGHH.
But good LOL nonetheless.
Though I must point out how he encouraged vandalism with all those free Jukebox tunes.
Also,
Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, thanks for the compliment
Ayyyyyyyyyyy… that’s a major WIN. Thumbs up.
Actually a pretty good point about the character and the actor, as well as a good LOL.
…Except it wasn’t my parents… It was my parents’ parents…
Did anyone ever really think he was a bad influence? The guy was Yoda in a leather jacket.
Oh, yeah! There were letter-writing campaigns about him.
And, at one point in time, they made him stop wearing the leather jacket (or it may just have been for the pilot, I can’t remember) because it gave him too much of a ‘bad boy’ image.
Oops, already commented on. I didn’t read far enough down…
Well, Fonzie did start out as a HS dropout-misogynist who often went on simultaneous dates with twins and triplets (one has to assume that he had them commit incestuous homosexual acts whilst he was giving them a good Rogering) but after a few seasons they educated him and made him a lame shop teacher. Henry Winkler on the other hand has always seemed to be a nice guy who more young celebutards should try to emulate.
Fonz, after he got the leather jacket (who remembers the cloth one from first season?), was a powerful influence for good — kept the rest of the gang in line, was a father figure to his cousin Chachi, got his diploma, became a shop teacher, loving husband, and was always there to help out when needed. Sounds like a positive role model to me. And Henry Winkler — totally cool dude in every way — look up the story (I’m sure it’s on the net) about his encounter with the little girl with autism. And have a kleenex handy …
I remember the cloth jacket – early first season. The Fonz garbed in leather is when the show actually jumped the shark. Henry Winkler is an all around good guy and a fine actor, but I like my televised thugs to be just a little more thuggish than the Fonz was.
And well, even before he got his diploma, he was a good mechanic, and a good friend to his friends. Positive role model with a rebel image; you’re doing it right.
Plus he could summon hot girls at will the man’s a sorcerer of awsome!
He also produced some pretty kick ass shows.
VERY Good one
Ever see the movie where he and Michael Keaton were working in a morgue? I think it was called Night Shift, but not sure.
You have little sense of how old most people’s parents are.
Most people? The people that post here could be anywhere from 6-97. You have no way of knowing. My parent are 55. Some of these people may have parents that are 80. Or 30. But I don’t know.
My parents would be 81 and 78, were they still alive.
actually, using IP addresses that log into the site to find out the spread of users over countries they log into from you can then cross reference the average age of those countries (from government statistical data) with the average age of an internet user within those countries (once again, most governments have statistical data on this) and then weight your numbers by the spread found out earlier. the process would be a giant and complicated undertaking, but you DO have a way of knowing
You have little sense of how old people on the Internet are. Do you think we’re all fourteen?
Thumbs up. We are sorely lacking in decent role models. Respect for self. Respect for spouse. Respect for others.
This is what all religions preach. What we all should strive for.
And, they covered him in bees, so he can take a joke too.
Rock on Mr. Winkler.
That’ll give you…er….bees!!!
No wait, wrong celebrity…..(sorry if you have no idea what I’m talking about, not sure how limited in range that particular meme was….)
Tim Curry <3
Someone just had to bring ‘religion’ into it…
I can name one religion where non-believers are called ‘fools’. They have a lot of websites and they call themselves ‘Christians’ or something like that.
Marriages. Thanks.
I saw a quick interview with Henry a few weeks ago while he was fueling his car. (ambush interview lol) I learned that he does NOT know how to ride a motorcycle. It was devastating news and I’ll be affected for life. -sigh-
Why was a guy who was all of 5 9′ if he’s lucky and 140 lbs so intimidating? Really… I think Potsie could have taken him… Oh. And what’s a marrige?
AND… The actor Henry Winkler Can’t ride a motorcycle! He rode one for the shows introduction.. and he said it scared him to death!
I never really understood the popularity of Happy Days. I liked The Fonz but most of the rest of the school to college age characters were nauseating.
And I am the age of those who watched it in its original run although I was a kid, I’m now 43.
It’s funny how things stick in your mind. Henry Winkler will always be remembered as The Fonz but I thoroughly enjoyed Night Shift, his role in Waterboy and a few other minor things He was brilliant in a guest role as a sociopath on Law & Order a while back, but now every time I hear his name all I can think of is the scene from Adam Sandler’s Little Nicky. “Here’s Henry Winkler, covered in bees”.
It’s marriages.
fonzy is cool as hell. henry winkler is kind of a dweeb…
Henry Winkler was great as the Fonz. And it’s a credit to his talent when you see what a deeb he actually is. I agree w/ Evil God, I really liked him in Night Shifts.
Did you really mean to call the Fonz a “deeb” – short for D-bag, alternate form of douche bag? In place of “deeb” I think you really meant to say “Heeb” which the Fonz certainly was.
Excuse my ignorance, but what’s a ‘Heeb’?
Jessi, what the Hell are you doing up this late? Get your ass in bed!
my parents? no, maybe their parents.
You forgot the number of STD’s the Fonz had.
