I refuse to watch any “dance” movie made today. If I wanted to see people grinding on each other I’d go to a strip joint.
:’( I’m depressed now. I’m gonna watch Dirty Dancing and bawl my eyes out.
RIP Patrick Swayze. You will be missed.
I wish I had the Dirty Dancing soundtrack now…
If I could send it to you, I would!
Why are all the good celebrities dying this year? ;n;
It just seems that way. This happens every year, and we (or, at least I) say the same thing every year.
Never seen anyone be more of a cowboy than Swayze during his almost defiant appearance on Baba Wawa’s show — utter cool and class. Godspeed, brother.
RIP Patrick. I just bawled my eyes out watching the final scene. One of the men who proved dancing can be masculine & sexy as hell!!!
YOU WILL BE MISSED!!!!
One of my favorite actors of all times. If there is such a thing as an afterlife, may it be peaceful and pain free for him.
Goodbye, Patrick… no more pain. He was one of the most talented and under appreciated actors of our time… RIP… hope to see you on the other side.
RIP. He will dance forever.
RIP Patrick. You take a lot of girlhood fantasies with you.
RIP
think I’ll go watch Dirty Dancing too, with a large box of tissues on hand for the sniffles
My friends just scheduled a rooftop viewing of Point Blank today! They had no clue this happened. [insert Twilight Zone music]
I’d assume you mean “Point Break”.
Yup. I never saw it and didn’t go because I wasn’t interested, so it’s no surprise I messed up the title
I think i’ll dig out the outsiders and watch it. Just to be different.
FTW. I LOVE that movie
I used to have a The Outsiders poster to. I wonder what happened to that…
im gonna watch To Wong Foo, i couldn’t look at him without giggling for years after that. he was talented, that one.
I forgot about that…he was GREAT in that movie!!
Patrick, God Bless You……just keep dancing…you were awesome.
We will miss you.
he came from my town
We lost a close family member to pancreatic cancer 3 years ago. It is one of the most cruel forms of cancer we have ever witnessed. The dignity and strength that Mr. Swayze showed as he dealt with his illness is a lesson to us all. God Bless.
My grandfather/namesake died of pancreatic cancer 14 years ago. Dr. gave him 8 months, and he lived 10 more out of sheer fortitude. It took so much from him before the end. A worse death is extremely hard to imagine.
The Outsiders. Red Dawn. Road House. Ghost. Point Break. To Wong Foo. Donnie Darko… Patrick Swayze’s work ran through my adolescence. Keep dancing, Patrick… ’cause you’ll never be put in any corners.
ROFL sorry I just remembered his character in Donnie Darko.
“Son, I think you’re afraid” he did a great job playing that creepy guy
I hated this movie. But I still has a sad today.
Same here… even if I didn’t like a lot of his movies, he was just sort of a respectable guy that anyone could like off camera too.
*sigh* I guess we won’t be having a Patrick Swayze Christmas this year.
Aw. Sad and funny at the same time.
It says a lot about the man that nobody is ragging on people for being sad he died.
goodbye patrick swayze
Thank you for this macro. I have posted it with attribution at my blog. Please let me know if that is not okay.
RIP Patrick. <3
RIP Patrick Swayze…thank you, sir.
Another great man gone too soon! I guess the angels wanted a wonderful, classy man to dance with. My heart & prayers go out to his beautiful wife, his family & all those fans who loved everything he ever did! You fought long & hard Patrick, but now you can finally rest & be at peace. God Bless you & thank you for giving so much of yourself to all of us. You will be missed, but NEVER forgotten.
Alias FAIL.

If at once you don’t succeed, try it with another screen name?
I will miss your smile, your dance, your love for life, but I hope you are in a better place. RIP
Another good one down
RIP Patrick Swayze
Thank you for the wonderful movies you made, you will forever dance in the hearts and minds of your fans.. thoughts and prayers to your family. RIP
When I get back to America in December one of the first things I will do is watch Ghost again. RIP Patrick Swayze. You will be missed.
RIP Patrick; We’ll never put Baby in the corner again
He seemed like such a decent, straight-up guy … great dancer, good actor, not a half-bad singer, either. And married to the same gal all along … that’s quite a record in Hollyweird. We’ll miss you, Patrick.
he fought cancer for 2 years he was a true wolverine
wolverines forever
rip pat
Am I the only one who wonders if he’ll visit his wife as a ghost?
And I thought nobody would suggest that
I’m sure if he can find a way, he will
classy if you ignore the pedophillia
???
not swayze
his character in this movie
Does he play a pedophiliac?
i dont think its intentional
but in a way, yes… sort of
I think Jennifer Grey’s character was supposed to be 18, so not underage.
Besides, in many parts of the country, in the time period the movie was set, High school was not mandatory, and people getting married, going to work, and having kids as young as 14 was not uncommon.
I had 2 aunts and a cousin who were married in the 50s & 60s at age 14, two to guys within 3 years of their age, the other (one of my aunts) to a 28 year old Korean War veteran. All three marriages were normal, productive, marriages – the one that married the vet was widowed after 40+ years, and the other two marriages still going strong 50+ years later. Wish I could say the same about their grandkids, and the people those grandkids married when in their 20s…
Remember that Romeo & Juliet were in their VERY early teens as well.
Before WWII, most places outside the US expected men to be in their early 20s, but women to be under 16, when they got married.
Any man who could dance with grace and strength AND A STRAIGHT FACE on the same stage as Chris Farley is a good man in my book. A great actor, and a superb human being in all respects. Go with grace and dignity, Mr Swayze
omg the chippendale’s audition skit on SNL . . . what a classic! He will be missed, R.I.P Patrick
Loved “Dirty dancing”, he was a few yrs older then I am and I still remember watching the movie,,, Yummm he was so hot. We actually live very near where it was filmed and Ive been to the place at the end where they are dancing like in a gym… It burned down some years ago.
He will be sorely missed. The last scene from Red Dawn just ripped your heart out…very well done.
And I agree, I refuse to watch dance movies, etc….no taste at all. And he seriously rocked those tight jeans…sweet ol’ Texas boy to the end. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say anything bad about him…
WOLVERINES!
rip
Patrick swayze was really a great actor and it’s really shocking news that he passed away due to cancer. We will definately miss him..
R.I.P. Patrick
U will be Missed
RIP Patrick. Loved you in Red Dawn, you’ll be missed
Very nice caption! I love it! Thanks for posting it!
Patrick, you will be missed!
Classy dude, great dancer, FRICKING FABULOUS drag queen. Not even joking.
And this makes me miss Jennifer Grey’s cute real nose!!! Waaah.
No one has mentioned it yet so I must add that I absolutely loooooved him the tv miniseries North and South – with the limp and period costumes. Might have to track down that series on dvd…
I was so sad when i heard he had died. In dd He was the bad boy who had a good side he was the guy who would ride up in his car and save you. Think i’ll watch dd this week in his memory. Rip patrick.
At least he is at peace now. I feel so badly for his wife as she will surely feel an empty hole in her heart forever now. I pray for her to deal with her loss as best as possible.
I never did like that mover…
Yes, Swayze was a decent actor. I loved “Ghost” and Road House was watchable…. but whatever you do, don’t waste your time on Dirty Dancing. Horrible.
