    HA! so true

    • arimareiji says:

Some years ago, I took to calling them Evil-Mart. I’ve had a few puzzled expressions for a moment before the light of realization clicks on, but no one’s ever needed to ask who I meant.

  2. Seng says:

With their made in China and all.
(You can click name if you don’t get it.)

  3. boodog108 says:

Sounds like I’m not the only one who found peopleofwalmart.com!

  4. Shisno says:

    God I hate Wal-Mart….

  5. Foop says:

I remember being told when I was little that bad children were taken to aisle 5 of Wal-Mart to be spanked.

  6. skystrider says:

I have an icon with this on it. Its great! My dad hates it too, he says its the root of all evil! XD Of course he also says smurfs are evil…

  7. wombot says:

For UK readers, replace ‘Wal-Mart’ with ‘TESCO’. I f’kin hate Tesco. Eveeeel.

  8. Carme says:

Yes, let’s all bash on Wal-Mart. As an associate, I can actually say that it’s not always the associates, most of the managers are assholes. The same goes for half our customers, too.

Oh, and the company takes your soul the moment you sign that first paycheck. GO WORK FOR TARGET.

    • Reika says:

So THAT’S where the soul I bought at Walmart yesterday came from! Thank for the donation. :D

    • arimareiji says:

I don’t think anyone blames the associates, Carme… it would be like blaming the zombie army for having been turned into zombies, or for the horrible things the necromancer in charge does.

      • That being said, some Wal-Mart associates truly are assholes. No offense, Carme. I was one for 2 years. Retail is all the same, though. I work at Sears now and it’s no different. In fact, I think Wal-Mart actually treats their employees better than Sears. Overall, most of the problems are caused by higher-ups who let the actual suffering of the problems trickle down to employees.

    • Merseine says:

I bash Wal-Mart corporate and their practices – I do NOT bash associates!

I disagree with many of Wal-Mart’s practices, and I choose to not shop there, but I will NOT hate the front-line folks. In the same way, I protest the war in the Middle-East, but I do NOT hate the soldiers.

Support the troops! End the War
Support the associates – hate Wal-Mart, not Workers! :)

  9. Matrix says:

don’t go to Wal-Mart at the beginning of the month.

  10. Carme says:

That’s for any retail/grocery store. Foodstamps and WIC

  11. Jen says:

    Win! This made my day.

  12. Moi says:

I’ve been waiting for something like this for years…

  13. jäger says:

i would aksually prefer….”one does not somply walk into wal-mart,there is staff there that do not sleep…or something similar, but this is funny2

  14. Ilove2learn says:

Sean Bean=future Zeus of “Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief” in my mind. Because I’m a total PJO nerd.
February 12th, 2010, by the way. CAN’T WAIT!!

  15. ankh says:

I work at Wal-Mart, third shift. I can attest to this.

The staff are fine, the managers are pretty good, customers don’t suck, but the company eats. your. soul.

  16. OMG says:

Did anyone else who worked for Wal-Mart get a lawsuit notice in the mail? It was something about Wal-Mart cheating employees out of rest breaks and lunch breaks. It was about 10 years ago when I worked there so I don’t really care about getting money from the lawsuit. I was just wondering if it was legit. I received a packet of papers to fill out and they asked for my SSN and W-2 information. I’m not going to participate,I’d like to forget I ever worked there.

    • PeachyKeen says:

It’s legit. Although, seriously, what floor associate doesn’t get called away from break? Customers don’t care if you’re on your lunch break. I’d rather sue Walmart for treating the 2nd shift like garbage. Day managers and overnight managers have no compassion for us evening zombies.

      • OMG says:

Thanks for the reply and they do treat 2nd shift like garbage. Sam Walton is surely spinning in his grave!

      • Carme says:

Totally true. Does anyone else have to do this stupid thing called a Zone Team? Where everyone from one particular area, at my store, goes around to other areas, like grocery for the whole freaking day, and zone and stock? Anyone else feel like their being tortured or punished for something they didn’t do? Please, tell me I’m not alone in this God awful company with a slight shred of sanity.

        • The same suffering exists all throughout retail, Carme. At my Sears an unexpected extra task for me is cleaning up after lazy salespeople who do all of our stocking for us and do a really lousy job of it. Somehow it’s okay for them to make my job harder, but I’m a dick if I complain about it. *sigh*

    • daggermutt says:

Yah I got that notice in the mail…though was surprised when none of the other associates in my store mentioned it. Due to that I have just thrown it away…probably will regret it later but better safe than sorry.

  17. Deathsfuzzyfriend says:

    Funniest.Caption.This.Weekend!

  18. fiendishrabbit says:

“There is evil there that does not sleep”

Well ever since they opened those 24/7 stores, yeah.

Before that Evil slept at least 6 hours per day, more commonly 10 hours.

  19. Cheryl says:

As true now as it was…oh, man, seven or eight years ago when I first heard this joke.

  20. Joseph says:

Wal-Mart is the thing that should not be.

  21. Stina. says:

    I lol’d :D

  22. HellHathNoFury says:

This is the best thing ever. out of all the best things ever, this is the king of them.

  23. fuzzyface says:

One does not simply walk into Walmart. There are dance steps you have to learn first.

  24. HelloAgain says:

Heh, I work at Walmart*. You sometimes see strange things, but each store is different.

  25. Sarah says:

I work at Wal-mart, and I’m hard pressed to say whether the evil is management, customers, or my fellow associates. Because let me tell you… we can be pretty darn evil. :D

  26. Kat says:

Yeah…I work for them. They treat you as badly as they can get away with and still be within legal bounds. Started looking for something else about a week after I got hired because it’s not worth what they pay me to stay there.

  27. bill says:

Walmart rocks. If it was so bad, why do SO MANY people shop there?

  28. nick says:

Shopping there can be okay. Working there’s a bitch sometimes, but I have a high tolerance for bullshit so I’m alright, but I’m looking to get out. I just see so many people quit then come back, I don’t wanna do that, there’s no sense in that. If you’re gonna leave, then LEAVE!

  29. seen that b4 says:

yeah that was a funny one.. 5 years ago when it came out. very original!
