I’m going to resist the urge to yell “first” and just say that R. Lee is awesome…
I first saw R. Lee Ermy as Sgt Loyce in “The Boys in Company C,” where the first line he uttered was an instant classic.
He looks over the new draft of recruits that he has to train and roars at them: “How do they expect me to train f***in’ Marines when they won’t send me human-God-damn-beings to begin with?”
I’ve been a fan of “The Gunny” ever since.
He’s the physical embodiment of Marine Corps discipline. Plus he’s got an awesome show on Discovery Channel about firearms.
I thought it was the History Channel. Either way he rocks.
