Jon Stewart is disappoint.
Broken…. I am disappoint.
Go back to /b/.
Jon Stewart doesn’t know what to say. On account of no writers.
news guy with no accountability = loser
Truer words were never spoken – considering so many people get their news from a comedian. If you don’t pay attention to the news, you’re uninformed, but if you do, you’re misinformed.
honestly, y can’t you guys just accept that it’s fake news for the purpose of entertainment, just like Fox news. Didn’t Fox news get out of a liable lawsuit by proving they were only an entertainment channel instead of a news channel? At least our fake news guy isn’t anywhere near as vicious and malignant as an O’reilly or a Beck. there’s my 4 cents, keep the change.
The 24 hour news networks are businesses first, and reporters second. They are ALL focused on one thing, ad sales, and that’s it. Keep that in mind when you condemn Fox based off of what the other stations told you, because remember, they are just catering to their demographic of viewers, just like Fox caters to their demographic by using guys like Beck or O’reilly.
There’s a difference between catering to a demographic and actively pursuing an agenda. CNN and MSNBC may be catering to whatever they think their demographic is but they aren’t on a sycophantic quest to empower the furthest right wing of American politics.
And yes, The Daily Show is a “fake” news program. Sadly, they often pick up truly disturbing stories that the 24 hour news networks don’t think would be interesting to their demographics.
Get off your high horse, CNN and MSNBC are pursuing every bit of an agenda as Fox is. Thinking anything other than that is naivety at its worst.
Nothing says stupid liberal like “Didn’t Fox news get out of a liable lawsuit by proving they were only an entertainment channel instead of a news channel?
I think we can guess where you get your “news” you ignorant f*^k.
Uh, that’s in publicly available Florida court records. Go hunting.
oh stop, don’t expect a Fox watcher to go looking for facts!
Oh really? ok, show me the link. Seems to me that if that was true, it would be a moon bats wet dream and would be widely known about but of course it’s more news that isn’t. Being an entertainment vs news is no defense to any actual liable law so once again, it’s moon bats believing their own version of what’s true.
Does a “news” station “report” FAKE quotes made by someone whos every word is recorded and NEVER said them? Well, CNN does, so what does that make them? When Rush sues them for liable, the fact that they’re a “news” station or entertainment for idiots will be totally irrelevant.

It’s called Google. It’s a wonderful thing.
Misinterpretation…. cut and paste, cut and paste, cut and paste… Notice the only article claiming “false” info is user submitted Wiki, (known for bias) the rest of the articles claim “distortion”…but are never detailed enough to share what that distortion actual is… So it is assumed this distortion is adding false info, because that is what anti-foxers want to believe. When in fact the distortion was omitting facts because the fox affiliate in Tampa was threaten by the pharmaceutical company. The litigation would have made the story not cost effective to run. You need unbiased proof, not the same misleading article repeating itself.
Here’s one link. Fox’s defense claimed that the First Amendment GUARANTEES the right for journalists to lie and/or distort news.

and nothing says right wing free thinker like name calling. well done.
Nothing says batsh!t conservatroll like assuming anyone who doesn’t like Fox is liberal. Retard.
Oh, I LOVE Jon Stewart!
He can fix MY news anytime
The news isn’t broken. There are still a few legitimate news reporting sources out there. Unfortunately, they are buried beneath all the larger “news sources” that are more focused on ad sales than anything else. They are businesses, plain and simple, and they are selling a product to their customers. In this case, the product is inflammatory statements designed to make the people want to watch more. Fox uses faces and voices like the character Beck plays to get people pissed about “what’s being done to our country.” The other 24 hour “news” networks don’t even have to go as far as talking about the country itself, as they can just complain about what Fox is doing, and they get their viewers fired up about Fox. They also do the fawning over the President that has become oh so popular of late, which gives their viewers a warm fuzzy feeling. But at its simplest level, it’s all just a ploy to bring more viewers in front of the TV, a business transaction between them and the ad companies with your eyes as a rating tool, nothing more, nothing less.
“the character Beck plays”
Wow, you mean a batsh!t crybaby right wing pundit is just a character? What’s he like in real life?
Hmm, I find it amusing that I’m hearing about FOX as much as I used to hear about Paris Hilton. I don’t have cable but I’m tired of the news station anyway, going back to my cave till the hype is over.
I adore Jon Stewart. He makes me laugh so hard. Although some of what I find funny is how he makes fun of other news sources. I trained as a journalist, so when a news channel, radio station or newspaper really messes things up it amuses me. Fox News is particularly bad for editting and technical work, half the time they cut to an advert while the presenter is still talking, or they mess a clip up. I do wish the news channels were impartial though. Bill O’Reilly presents his views as facts, and he never lets anyone get a word in. He invites them in for interviews, and yet he talks over them, telling them what he thinks they’re saying; it makes me cringe. Jon is just hysterical, and yes I know its not news; it’s satire. And sometimes a good satire is what everyone needs; a good kick up the backside to show them how ridiculous they really are, and that hopefully, as a result, they will mend their ways.
Has he been bashing anyone lately?
Among the three major cable news networks, Fox News averaged 2.3 million viewers during prime time
CNN averaged 1.1 million viewers
For you IQ challenged liberal idiots who think you know everything, FOX has MORE THAN TWICE the viewers. But remember, Nancy Grace is “news”.
So what Fox has twice the viewers? That doesn’t speak to their quality as a news source.
Fox has more than twice the viewers…which means that sheep reproduce rapidly.
ok lets do some word math here. Let’s say your at a market. And there’s five stands that sell apples, but only one that sells oranges. The orange stand will have more buisness not because it is better, but because of the shorter supply of oranges vs apples. Thats the laws of SUPPLY AND DEMAND. and btw yes, i DID just compare apples & oranges
and don’t start on my mispellings and grammer, im a math and computer programming person. good english is NOT a requirement
I’ve made that point before on PK, irisheagle, and it’s a good one. There are many “liberal” media outlets (MSNBC, CNN, the networks), but only one really conservative one, Fox. So naturally Fox is gonna have higher ratings since ALL the conservatives who want their conservative fix are gonna go there.
What I want to know is how do they know who’s watching what? Am I being tracked everytime I watch a certain channel?? How do they get the number of viewers that they claim to have???
CNN has been a numerous target of the Daily Show recently… Fox he of course doesn’t like and he also said in one segment that apart from a couple of people MSNBC is nuts.
Seriously, is that all you have? A disagreement with fox news and thier own reporters about hormone injections for cows in Florida back in 2000? Really? Amazing how 1 sided liberals are requiring so little evidence to condemn fox news… Shame!!! Heres what really happened… Reporters find evidence of tainted cows, reporters are paid off an undisclosed amount by company tainting cows, reporters (who were married to each other btw) refuse to run story. Reporters are fired, reporters sue fox news and refuse to submit evidence against themselves. Fox loses suit, fox counter sues and wins claiming the court could not side with reporters and that fox news is allowed to broadcast content as they see fit. Liberals spin, stretch the truth, and smear fox just as they do to all who disagree with their agenda.
Wow, i just found an updated article, says the fox news affiliate in Tampa refused to run the entire story on threats from the pharmaceutical company Monsanto’s who warned of “dire consequences” for Fox if the series aired as it stood. The Fox news affiliate agreed to tone the story back and their reporters disagreed leading them to be let go with compensation from the tv station. The reporters sued fox for siding with the pharmaceutical company by not accepting all of the evidence provided to fox by the reporters. This is completely the opposite of liberal claims, fox news was trying to tone the story down a bit making sure they didn’t add false or questionable evidence. In other words, Fox news got sued because they required more proof before they would run the full story. That was their “alteration”, they were omitting the parts that didn’t have the evidence they required and shortened the story. Geez. What a twist. Is it time for the libs to call me names yet?
doesn’t this say a lot about the quality of fox news if stories have to be trimmed to please pharmaceutical companies?
The Chaser on Fox News
Another one:
Excellent clips. Unlike most of the arguments before and after this post, this doesn’t focus on Left / Right associations of American news agencies, just their categorical failings. Specifically on the outright lack of content or open discourse. And of course Fox News leads the pack in inviting people onto their shows just to cut them off or call them names if they aren’t simply there to play patty cake with the presenter(s).
JESUS CHRIST CAN WE JUST COMMENT ON THE DAMN PICTURE INSTEAD OF BLASTING PEOPLE WHO DO OR DONT WATCH WHATEVER NEWS CHANNEL! DOES IT REALLY MATTER!? this is america and if i wanna watch fox, cnn, msnbc, AND jon stewart all at the same time, then i should be able to do it without someone trying to push their agenda on me(political or otherwise)!
now as for my comment, I happen to think Jon Stewart is very funny and cute.
thank you.
Hear, hear!
thank you
I watch BBC…the international version…much better than the slanted junk in america
yea, they ask a question… and then… then they actually let the person respond. You know, if I didn’t know better I’d think that they might be so crazy as to believe that their audience may want to: listen to, discuss, think about, or dare I say even consider different points of view… Crazy Brits
Why can’t we just stop over analyzing and agree he’s funny? He is reporting the news, just with a satirtical stand point. It is just a SNL weekend update, everyday of the week. Except fridays. and the weekend, but thats not the point.
