I thought Insurrection was IX.

Hairpieces or not, Shatner’s Kirk at this age was smokin’ hot. New Kirk is just a boy; even Shatner’s old Kirk (ahem – mature Kirk!) could kick hs ass.

Technically, the new movie is the 11th star trek movie, so this would be Star Trek XII. It’s hard to think that the series has that much of a franchise.
Funny thing being that The Simpsons made fun of ST:VI by show a clip from a fictional ST:XII, which we will have in another year or 2.
