I agree. They should also remember that one of the roles that brought Hugh to the X-Men casting people’s attention was that of Curly in a stage production of “Oklahoma!”.
I saw Hugh in “The Boy From Oz”. He was amazing.
And Mr. Jackman actually began his musical career in Australia’s production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast lo, these many years ago, just a bit before Trevor Nunn’s ‘Oklahoma!’. I saw The Boy From Oz 3 times, it never got old. And I hung out at the stage door too with some friends of mine, so I can say confidently based on personal experience that Mr. Jackman treats his fans very well — in addition to all that talent, he’s a genuine, nice guy.
Mr. Jackman, in my opinion, also did a great job in Nunn’s production, which is available on DVD, btw. There are a couple scenes where the Wolverine potential comes out!
And he’s going to be back on the Great White Way soon, too, I forget the name of the show, but they’re in rehearsals right now.
If I were captioning this pic, I’d say something like ” ‘Range’ — ’nuff said.” (but then, I’m not very good at captions!)
He’s on the Great White Way *right now* in a non-musical play called “A Steady Rain” w/Daniel Craig.
