FURST
Stephen Furst was born in Norfolk, Virginia. He is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s theater program. In 1972, Furst’s father died from diabetes complications. Years later, Furst was diagnosed with type II diabetes. After almost needing to have his left foot amputated due to diabetes complications in 1996, Furst lost nearly 80 lb (36 kg) in the time between the third and fourth seasons of Babylon 5. When filming started for the fourth season, the show’s producers found that all of the costumes were now too large for him. His weight loss is easily visible in the later seasons of Babylon 5. (This weight loss was not explained within the context of the Vir Cotto character.) He wrote the book Confessions of a Couch Potato about his weight loss and diabetes, and co-wrote and directed a video called Diabetes for Guys, an attempt to educate about diabetes management through humor.
WIN!
Relevant Ordinal Post Rule WIN!!!
Win!!!11!!
By the way, I got to meet the late Richard Biggs (Dr. Franklin) at a con, in the 90s.
He confirmed to me that Furst’s/Vir’s “Deer in the Headlights” facial expression in the Babylon 5 opening credits (season 3 or 4, perhaps both) was deliberate, and meant as a foreshadowing of what happened to the character as the seasons progressed.
Aw <3<3<3. I've always liked Steven Furst and the Vir Cotto character was one of the greatest in all of sci-fi. Gotta love the guy that gets the last laugh.
*walks up to sauron*
i’d like to buy some cheese!
Sauron is walking around Mordor yelling, “Albatross!!”
The Battle of Helms Deep is now reenacted by the Mordor Townswomen Guild
“I will not buy this tobacconist’s; it is scratched.”
In this picture, there are 47 ring ghosts. none of them can be seen … in this film, we will show you how not to be seen! *puts on ring*
There are several ways in which to irritate hobbits.
And now for something completely different. A man with the One Ring up his brother’s nose.
The One Ring? We already got one!
Monty Python AND Lord of the Rings? Stop! It’s too much nerd for one joke!
no such thing as too much nerd.
This entire post is comprised of 98% win. The rest is ad space.
WEEEE ARE THE NAZGUL WHO SAY “NEE!”
“ssssSHIRE….DINSssssDALE”
Gandalf would pwn the Balrogs ass if only he would have a 40 ton weight hidden somewhere in the ceiling…
Or a banana.

I’ve got the raspberry’s! Where’s the tiger?
You’ve just shot him!
Or a giant foot.
“Behold! The City of Gondor!”
“It’s only a model.”

Minas Tirith. Gondor is the country.
Bah! Damnation and such! And I call myself a nerd…
Meanwhile, back at Helm’s Deep we find Gimli perched atop a box yelling at the hoard below, “Now go away of I shall taunt you a second time-ah!”
“fetchez la WARG!”
You have to be a true dork to appreciate the full brilliance of this.
…on second thought, let’s not go to Mordor. ‘Tis a silly place.
One word describes the whole picture.
WIN.
Nothing else need be said.
this was the first time i actually laughed about a picture on this page for a very long time! Congrats CAPT! you have won one free internetz
”There are LoLcats there that do not sleep”
+1 internet for you
LOLROF
But it should actually be “One does not simply silly walk into Mordor”
Well it could be, but I think the captioner has substituted “simply” and “silly”, as they have four letters in common. In fact, the caption may have come about by someone mishearing Boromir’s line.
This is absolutely 100% pure, unadulterated win. And so are most of the comments.
I concur. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Perhaps if he brought Sauron a shrubbery?
She turned me into a Balrog
…
well…I got better
Like it – good caption, and as for a few of the comments, I like a bit or nerd!
ROTFL!!!
I must say, the caption actually fails, but the picture makes up uberly up for it.
Every picture of John Cleese is automatic win.
